Update for the day:

Few days back got a call from from Fortpoint Maruti (MASS), where I've an AMC for a year for my Tallboy, regarding free AC check up camp.

Today I visited MASS after fixing a prior appointment.

AC specialists checked the temperature of cooled air from blower and they were satisfied with it as it was 8 degrees centigrade.

As per experts comment, 8 degrees is a way ahead than good score.

When I visited MASS, I had driven 400+ Kms today with AC on all the time.

Although I am very much happy with the Experts comments, my dilemma is, if my 400+ km drive with AC on all the time may have influenced the test results of experts with their digital temperature sensors ??

I don't think so. Whenever AC turn off ,it loose the effect within 15-20 minutes .

Due to prior fixed appointment, my vehicle was attended within 10 mins after turning off the engine.

I was complaining of AC being not so effective on blower speed 1-2 and the reaction was like What the hell this guy want FROST BITE in the car ??

But I explained Experts that you guys are measuring temperature of out-coming from Blower air and not the cabin temperature.

And the answer was, as per rules Blower air temperature is the thing to measure to judge the AC functionality.

If the the temperature of air from blower is that cold then cabin temperature should be according to that. You want to say cabin feels not so cool [thinking]

Yes.. Thats what I felt throughout yesterday's drive of 400+ kms on blower speed of 1-2. (Outside temperature was above 40+ degrees I guess or even more than that but not less).

But when I switch the blower speed to 3, then it was like ALL IS WELL... [:D] (But blower speed sound can be sensed in the cabin more) [roll]

Am I expecting too much cooling from blower speed 2 ? or it is normal with all Maruti Suzuki hatchback segment vehicles ?

Don't know about other maruti cars but in my Alto never went above speed 2. Even speed 2 is needed for first 5-10 minutes after that speed 1 is enough .
How are you using the AC. I mean with recirculation air or fresh air mode?

I think overall cabin space (which is more as compare to Alto in Waggie I guess) with how many people on-board have an impact with AC cabin space temperature... Yes..I'm using AC with re-circulation method.

On-board math was 2 Adults(including me) + 2 Kids and most influencing thing IMO as I mentioned in earlier post, outside temperature was like HELL [shock]

This is a start for summer (March) but the territory where my hometown is, temperature reaches upto 48+ degrees in May/June... [cry]

Little more head room should not be the reason for ac effectiveness [:D]I think your ac needs service . Check with your ac mechanic . MASS people will not do what you want. They will force you to accept that all is well.[;)]

IMO, Of course it does have impact when it comes to increase in the area, no matter how much it is, which an AC needs to cool. [specially area of Alto K10 (7795670000 mm square) and New gen Wagon R (8835644350 mm square)]

After experiencing low performance of AC when it comes to extreme conditions, now in Mumbai conditions I felt cabin temperature adequate with good performance of AC.

I don't think few inches can make any difference for performance. It can take more 5-10 minutes to reach that level. But can't leads to less cooling .

Disagree..

If it would have been the case then there would have not difference in TR capacity of refrigeration/cooling .

Buddy your car is not 6-7 seater or a suv or muv, it is a 5 seater hatchback with almost same length and width as of alto and swift. And are you trying to say that maruti is giving weak ac in wagon r?

Please don't take away the discussion in another topic which is not concerned here at all (Like what Maruti offering and not).

This discussion is neither about the passenger carrier nor about what Maruti offerings !!! Let's be clear about it.

Now coming back to discussion, can you please let me know what TR capacity of an AC is for a Maruti hatchback ?

And as per your comment it seems that Maruti is offering the same capacity of AC to Alto, Wagon R & Swift, are you sure about it ?

My concern was only about my car's AC performance & it is solved... Thats it!!!

No hard feelings buddy... Cheer up.. [:)]

Good to know that problem solved.

Hi,

If you don't have a boot tray in your car then the addition of it can helps in sealing the bootspace which makes the AC to cool only the cabin space. I got this advice from my MASS. It make sense isn't it?

Once I had issue with my IAC value which leads to poor AC cooling.
For inspecting I got to the service center by driving about 27kms with the AC ON.
They said Inspection cannot be done right now since you have used your AC. So they let my car to take rest for a couple of hours before making the final inspection.

So i think your 400+ kms drive with the AC ON must have influenced the test results[roll]
