1. Is it good to get the tires upgraded to 185/70 R14 as soon as i take delivery of the car ? or should i wait for sometime and then look for a tyre upgrade. I recently checked my new car and saw factory fitted Apollo AMAZER XL (TL) Tubeless P 165/80 R14
2. I am planning for Bridgestone MY-02 Sporty. Are they good ? welcome for any suggestions
3. Will tire upgrade reduce the FE. ?

Grateful if anyone can advice me on the above
Try to get Bridgestone Potenza G3's or Yoko ES100.
Recently I upgraded the tires on my enjoy, I had exchanged the tires the very next day I bought the car. I have got Yoko ES100's.
I had to pay 10400 for four tires including exchange of my Stock JK Ultima.
Stock size - 175/70 R14 upgraded to 195/60 R14.
Try Hercules tires near PES college (Hosakerehalli Main road).

Is that Bridgestone Potenza G3 available in 185/70 R14 size anymore ?

Anyone got real life experience with Bridgestone MY-02 Sporty ? How are they ?

---------------

Another question, Do Ritz VXI comes with auto lock features on the door ? Like As soon as the car starts moving after certain speeds All 4 Door get locked automatically ?

@Sudhi

I second Varun on the upsizing of the tyres. Ritz really required a upsize as 165 are really not suitable for this tall boy design. I look for my turn when my noisy JK Tornado's wornout

upgrading to 185/70 R14 will improve the handling and braking. It will decrease your FE by maximum 1km/lt. So it depends on you whether you want to upgrade or not.Ritz is definitely undertyred so i will recommend an upgrade .I havnt done so because my car will never leave city limits.

Even my car is fitted with amazers, these tyres along with MRF's and JK's are considered among the worst. I wish they would have given atleast apollo accelleres which are considered much better and also come as OEM in ritz.Bad luck[frustration]

If you want to upgrade do so within first 100kms.This will ensure that you get the best deal.Talk to the tyre dealer beforehand.
Many good brands are available which include michelin xm2/bridgestone my-02/ yokohamas.Take your pick.Avoid michelins if you frequently travel on bad roads.
Thanks Petroholic. 60 % of my driving is on highways so i would definitely consider upgrading my tires.

I am planning upgrade to Bridgestones. Also, heard from one of my friend too that his michelins tires bursted out when he got into a pothole at a speed of 70 kmph.

I will update you once i have my car

185/70 R14 88H
185/70 R14 88S TL

Guys need a quick advice from all of you .Yesterday was at a local accessory shop to get parking sensors and roots horns installed in my ritz. Was looking at some ICE and the accessories guy ( who seems to know me personally ) suggested to put this HU for 1200/-.This was taken down from a brand new bolero because the owner wanted an upgrade.

+ves -
• its kenwood
• brand new, just 1200/- ,
• Even if I add 2 JBL's for 1500/- I get an ICE for just 2700/-
-ves -
• no usb only an aux and cd ,
• red colour backlit etc won’t match the orange coloured lights on ritz dash

Also guys have a pair of old 4 inch speakers but the slots in the car are 6” .Any DIY I can do to mount them onto the rear doors.I will just buy a pair of new JBL’s for around 1500/- and use them in front. These can go at the back just for the sake of having some sound..I think I can get some ply / fibreglass. Mount these speakers on it .Cut the board according to the slots in the car.And mount those boards in the slot. Will probably stick some foam on the board to prevent rattling. What say guys?

HU is good you can go for it.If you really need of usb then don't prefer[:D]

I think you can go for JBL speakers 6"25 .your 4" shown in i don't prefer as you have some alteration work to be done and when high volume you may face some problem's with the speakers.

one time investment think and decide.[roll]

Drop the idea about fixing the 4" Speaker at door with extra effort as it may rattle at high volume.

Go for the HU but only after hearing the sound properly, but my question are you sure the unit is brand new ? Is it comes as OEM (factory fitted one) with the car which I believe new ?

-------

You get CD Drive [clap] and the Blank CDs are cheap anyway. But if you totally depend on 'Aux In' then I can point out several reasons why you need USB over AUX ?

By completely judging your picture of backbit view of that HU, it don't look out-of-the place when installed at your car with Orange backbit environment as long as it is not Blue or Green.

thanks for the replies.Couldnt respond earlier due to stupid internet problems.

The thing is i am getting the HU for 1200/- .Even if i use it for 1 year my investment is justified.

but my question are you sure the unit is brand new ? Is it comes as OEM (factory fitted one) with the car which I believe new ?
Yup i think its relatively new.The pictures i have posted above are from a 2013 model bolero taken from another forum. It comes as OE fitment in the car.

I have no use for CD's. Only thing i will be using in this unit is the aux.

Ok will drop the idea.Although i was looking forward to polish my DIY skills and have some satisfaction of saving money too.[;)]

Another thing i found is the back doors are not provided with speaker cables only front door are lined up with speaker cable.we need to re-route the cable to back if we install speakers in rear door.

Pls see to this if u really need rear door speakers.
