Car has covered more than 71k kms. Turning 5 years old this October.
Will give the car to my trusted FNG since there's no major thing to be done in the car and I will save a lot on labor costs. Changing just the oil and filters and maybe brake pads. They are still going on at 71k kms which is surprisingly good.

The mechanic used to work in Bosch and handled luxury cars as well so it's not a problem to get the ford service done from him.
Got the service done
Oil and oil filter - 1700rs
Air filter - 360rs
Brake pads - 1700. Bought from kashmeri gate market but the mechanic said original pads are good for another 15k kms[shock]
Car's odo is at 72k kms.
Will get it changed in the next service.

Also the oil level was low , car has run 11k kms since last service. Mechanic said there's no problem in the engine[think] and I don't find any issues at all.
Or is it the ford engine ? I noticed low engine oil ( not this much) in 2nd year of ownership also.

It's not on the skill of the mechanic, what I meant was regarding the tools they use.
If you are confident , no worries.

In Trivandrum's Ford service centre- For Brake pad - I have seen them using Vernier and taking the reading, they have a tolerance of 10mm (I am not sure on the value).
Usually maruti and Hyundai technicians say - "Ath iniyum odikolum sir , till next service"(It will run fine till next service sir )

Ford measure everything and give a report card which maruti and hyundai doesn't.
And ford parts lasts longer too. Brake pads , air conditioning parts etc are not gone even at 5 years /72k kms.

Got the detailing done too. But it's a waste on red color. I forgot I did polishing in December 2019 as well. Shine doesn't last too long since guard cleans it every second day.

I would like to add not all things lasted that long. The power window switches are acting up again. 1 of the passenger door power window won't go up but wil go down. I did change 2 switches under warranty plus one of the 4 power window switch on the driver side is on it's final breathe. It will break within a month.

Did you check about the reason for this pre mature failure of switches. I have never in my life come across this problem in any of my vehicles, in fact, the Ecosport of a friend is about to touch 2.1 lac kms, not a single glitch till date.

I don't have any idea about this but maybe some built up carbon ?
I10 too has this problem and all we can get from the market are repaired switches which fail after some time again.

I can't recall but somebody said the stop lamp needs to be replaced fully in order to get it working again. My car's bulb was fused for so many days and today I decided to try to fix it.

I was able to open the light by using the method in the video but was unable to put it back [embarass][sleep]

Just a cavity behind the light.

Purpose was to check if bulb replacement can be done or not. Otherwise I would have spent on this led strip. I have seen many tigor and looks good on the car.

500rs[lol] I changed the bulb today and it costed me 20rs for the bulb and 50rs labor since it was not easy to put the light backbut eventually he was able to do so.

Also got hella midnight Black horns installed. OEM horns are Minda make and the design and placement is such that it felt like horn is present inside the cabin which I think you all will agree.

Being a Monday my usual guy had an off today and i had the itch to change the horn today no matter what.

This guy was a complete moron. Job which usually takes 20-25 minutes he did the work in 1:15 hours.

One horn is present under the left side headlight and the other one is present just in front of the radiator. I asked the guy to remove the bumper and install them. He insisted he can do it like that.

Moron wasted 40 minutes to get the horn changed under the left headlight and when he went to the second one he said now he has to open the bumper since his hand cannot reach. [frustration] I was like WTF. Took him another 10 minutes to open the bumper.

The shop owner , another guy who was waiting to get work done was also getting pissed at him.

Long story short - horns work great and there's not so much sound coming inside the cabin and truth be told I feel like I have degraded the horn quality(since I no longer hear that much horn sound inside) but on the outside it's loud , crisp and clear. [cheers]

Got the 6th year insurance renewed. Last year premium was 19xxx and this year I was quoted 21k by my usual agent[shock]
I asked him why the premium increased and he said TP increased and he always says this.

I contacted the FNG from whom I got insurance claim done some time back and he quoted me 13xxx.
I was really pissed at the usual agent but didn't say much since he's kind of a relative.

Is there so much difference in policies , I never knew.

1. New policy quoted by usual agent.

2. Policy bought

3. Previous year's policy

ICICI Has less Idv by 15k and no passenger assist. Still it would have not cost more than 1000rs in premium.

Car's odo near 74k kms.
Mileage - 17kmpl with eco mode turned on.
Milage has reduced by 2kmpl for some reason.

It seems your previous policy was from General Insurance, a government owned company and their premium rate used to be always higher than the private ones like ICICI Lombard, Bajaj Allianz etc. (same case with National Insurance company, United India etc.. Initial policy for my car was taken by the dealer from one of these govt Insurance company. When it was due for renewal, they sent me a quote which was higher than the initial one and at that time I checked with ICICI whose premium was much much lower than what the first Insurance company quoted to me.

The government guys are not worried about losing few policies (it's their usual attitude).

So, you got a good bargain here. Enjoy. !
