Hmmmm am looking at 185/65/R14 now , the stock tyre size of Verna SX CRDI(top-end model). If dad says ok to Michelin i will go ahead but if he sees VFM then Yoko A-Drive.

Now what to do with my old spare tyre? Its 175/70/R14 B250 not even run 20kms so far , its still brand new but two years old! How much will they give for that tyre?

185/65 is more suitable for 175/70 replacement, but you would loose some 2 mm GC. With 185/70, GC will increase by some 6-7 mm, but there will be big speedo error.

My view, considering VFM factor, stick to 175/70, take michelin 4 tyres. Keep spare in spare to use in emergencies only.

Otherwise, if money is not a factor, take all 5 Yoko A-Drive of 185/65 size.

Yes i chose 185/65 because the speedo error is also minimum. And also why i chose 185/65 is slightly enhanced looks and grip levels at highways. Your advice also seems to be a nice choice , but i think again Yoko A-drives are available in 175/70 too , right?

If dad allows i will go for 185/65 Yoko's else i will stick to 175/70 as you said. I want to know what will happen to the spare tyre if i switch to 185/65. How much can i expect for that spare tyre?

Long time since i updated this thread , too much attention towards Aria i guess!

Few updates and poor experiences at A.S.S.

1. Car was serviced at January last with 44k KMS on the ODO just a general oil change service , no complaints as such. I just wanted a complete Interior wash done so the normal expected bill is in the range of Rs.6500 at the max. But i was shocked to get a bill of 9k!! They had added unnecessary things like wheel balancing , wheel alignment , headlamp adjustment , AC cleaning etc etc blah blah and looted money from me! Both while drop and also pick up i was busy with Aria delivery and registration process , so i din fight or complain against them. But lesson learnt from next time i will be very careful while dropping the car for service!

2.The car has now clocked almost 49k KMS and still running very good. I feel happy that i have not spent even a penny for extra unwanted repairs so far apart from regular maintenance.

3. Planning to change the tyres this week , decided to get 185/65 Yoko A-Drive.

@ Ilango Yup 9k is too much for a Verna CRDI , must not go above 6k! Anyways as i said before , lesson learnt! Now hereafter when i drop for service i will insist strictly that i will not pay for unnecessary things done without my approval!

@ Nofate Check out the pictures before , my car already has alloys buddy.

@Dhaya, what are the current rates for tyres?

There has been a recent price hike a month back if I am not wrong. Do check out and let us know!

and reg the spare tyre, I guess you can keep it until unless it is worn out as much as the ones that are running now. You have the habit of rotating 5 tyres right? If that's the case, I would suggest a 5 tyre replacement.

reg the 175/185 section, I guess the price difference would be less than 500 per tyre. This should not bother you! And in terms of mileage, there will be negligible difference.

Are they pouring in synthetic oil.?

Normal oil per litre is 220.
So 5 lit a max of 1100/-

oil filter rate will vary to the type used. , from 100 to 300.

coolant , 200 a litre and max 2 lit will be used and rest 4 to 5 lit is distill water.
air filter a max of 400 to 600/-
diesel filter , depend on design factor.Indica/go cost 140 for one. keep it the worst 1000/- [evil] for your car.

Ac cleaning !!!!!!! removal of gas which was working fine , cleaning them and fixing , its charged 2.5k here. which is needed for some 6+ year car since dust gets accumulated in cooling coil.

Labour charge extra , oil oil filter change , coolant change . greasing etc.
