Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT | 3 Years | 21,000 Kms

thanks for your wishes.
i don't have 2 vernas [lol] my friend bought it(diesel variant) , i just helped him in his decision. [:)]

the big changes were in the suspension setup plus stwering response and even the gear shifts.
my verna's gearshifts aren't that smooth. (petrol variant)

i am getting around 13kmpl in winters with less ac usage.
in summers i get 9-10 kmpl.
yet to ask what he's getting. his dad drives the car so never got a chance to see the mileage figures.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT | 3 Years | 21,000 Kms

Odo has crossed 29k kms.

Lots of work to be done. Getting confused from where to get the things done.

1. Service - oil , oil filter , air filter - 3000 rs.
2. Brake pads - hopefully 4k rs ( bosch uses tvs girling and delphi brand)
Thinking of getting these 2 things done from bosch.
Just checked the cost of genuine pads on 99 rpm. Front pads - 1500 rs and rear pads around 4500 rs [surprise] and i thought i will get both of them for 4k rs.

3. Ac service - got it done in june 2014 but didn't have the cooling coil cleaned. This time thinking of getting this done from the HASS.
I guess it will cost 4k rs.

4. Suspension work - gets krr krr sound whenever the car is fully loaded from the rear suspension. Maybe the tyre is touching the body. Will have to get it checked.

10-15 k total expense.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT | 4 Years | 29,000 Kms

I have replaced all brake pads in my 50k km service in last month.
rear brake pads are imported hence costs 4.5k
my total bill for this service was 19.5k , gear oil changed another one component for gearbox costing 1.8k was also changed.
I was expecting a service cost of around 10k but in actual it was double.

Is Hyundai costlier compared to FIAT, Toyota, Honda?
Now a days after sales are getting good money by creating an extended warranty option.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT | 4 Years | 29,000 Kms

@ dadasaheb can you please upload the bill so as to know what all things needed to be changed.

I went to hass and he noticed that brake fluid is also less. Thinking of topping the brake fluid first. What do you say ?

He told me to get the ac service after a month when i will be using ac everyday.

About the double expenses. It always happen. "Saar this part needs replacement and that's the only thing i am afraif of. My dad dislikes them for the same reason.

I also inquired from bosch service center and he said roulands brand break pads will cost around 3000rs for both front and back plus 1500 rs for all discs skimming. This looks like a better deal even if they last 20k kms i am happy. I think now i will cover a mere 4000 kms per year in verna.
The hyundai advisor told me they have increased the service prices so for verna it's now 1800rs just for oil , oil filter , air filter change labor and washing charges. Bosch will charge 950rs for the same thing.

Will get brake fluid checked from a local mechanic as well.

@ ambu lover - now a days every car company has expensive after service. They give lots of discounts while selling and cover up each and every penny in aftersales.

I can get the original part with 10% discount on the mrp from the local market but these service centers , even the bosch sells at mrp. So imagine the margin.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT | 4 Years | 29,000 Kms

Got the car serviced today.

Engine oil - 10w40 castrol magnetic - 1350 rs
Air filter and oil filter - 250rs
Front brake pads - 1100rs
Rear brake pads - 1900 rs
Coolant 2 liters - 550rs
Labor - 1000rs
Washing - 450rs
Disc surfacing (all 4 ) - 700rs

Now the brakes have improved a lot. Any ideas why the stock pads shaped like that ?

I also inquired from a 3rd place yesterday who were selling mando brake pads and they told me it's oem. He quoted 650rs for the front and 850rs for the rear. I thought they might be of some local company so didn't buy it. Check the picture.

What's the term Disc surfacing @ Mr.AllHyundaicars.

Here my verna service costs around 2500 for normal service (Normal Paid),major ones costs less than 6k.

Check the image (source google) look at the discs in pictures above and after disc surfacing they became like the picture.

They grind the outer surface on a lathe machine to remove all the lines , it's important or else the new brake pads won't last long.

And about service center (lol) just check what they might have charged me.

Engine oil , air filter , oil filter - 1500rs
Front brake pads - 1200 rs
Rear brake pads - 4500rs
Disc surfacing - 1500 rs
Coolant - 700rs
Brake overhaul - 1200rs
Paid service -1900rs
Around 13k plus tax. And i paid around 7500rs. Thats a big difference.
Also when i went to sc for my santro they recommened discs to be replaced at 40k ( that time i didn't know about disc surfacing) he quoted 4k for discs and the car is now at 130k kms still with original discs.

The rubber pads didn't help much. The problem is something else. Will get it checked.
Also side mirrors got stolen [frustration] not just mine but the whole row of cars parked there.

I might have missed this in the previous posts but why did you change the coil pads ?
If the problem is the bottom scraping then try installing spring coils buffers in all 4 shockers.

Sorry to hear about this theft. Another additional expense for you. Some people deserve to be publicly flogged.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna 1.6 VTVT | 4 Years | 29,000 Kms

I thought the car was bottoming out but it is some other thing. The left side sometimes creates harsh sound even when I am the only one sitting with no load at the back.

I went to the same shop and asked his 3 guys to sit in the car. Nothing.
I went to a car tyre shop as I thought the tyres are old and maybe because of the tyres the sound is coming. ( on rough surface the noise is unbearable) even a friend (a girl) said my car is sounding like a 20 year old maruti :/ [lol]
The tyre shop guy said bushings have gone bad ( i recently changed my santro's bushings at 148k kms and verna is at 31k only)
I didn't beleive him but still went to a local mechanic and he said the sound is coming from the rear door , he tightened the speaker ring and when I drove the same sound kept coming. Didn't go to him after that.

Besides the harsh noise which comes every now and then there's another sound which is driving me crazy and that's why the mechanic opened the rear door to fix the speaker.

And now I believe the sound could be coming from the wooden board on which the amplifiers are fixed. It occurred to me yesterday only but I checked and it seems fixed in its place.

I went to the ps and asked the constable that I want to file a fir , he asked the reason and I told him. That side mirrors got stolen , he said "what will the police do on this" I was like what. Anyways I kept my calm and told him that I have to give the photocopy to the insurance company. Another lady constable asked me what the matter was and she knew about the incident since there were many cars involved.

Ps: i filed an online complaint before going to the ps. I went there because the advisor at hyunai and even the customer care of bharti axa told me that you will have to get a fir from the ps and the online fir will not work.
Guys it will work and the lady constable told me to get that in writing if the insurer didn't take it as a legit document.

Side Mirror getting stolen,i can't understand how such crooks exists.

I think the car manufacturer have to cover the ORVM also under security system.

What if the car was premium one like BMW or Audi
