Hi naveen04in i am ina plan to purchase 2 new cars one is maruti baleno 1.3 Alpha and another on is Hyundai Creta 1.6 CRDI SX(O) Star dust color how is the ride and handling on highways as i planned to use creta in highways. and service costs.
All my findings are in my ownership report. It's a joy to drive on the highway. As I said, since I have the cycle carrier, I cant push the car further. And also, it gives excellent mileage, overtakes are effortless now. As for the service costs, it's too early for me to say as I have just done 6800 kms.

Shiva M creta doesn't get any under body metal protection like duster, because when I was referring creta review in overdrive they said like that only adding the paragraph for your reference[:)].

It isn’t a hardcore off-roader though. There is ample ground clearance (we reckon it’s close to the Duster at 210mm) but there is no AWD variant. There is no metal under body protection like in the Duster. Instead there’s a flat panel that offers some protection and aids aerodynamics. Traction control is offered in the top variants and can be turned off.

Hearty congratulations on your latest acquisition and what a detailed write-up!![clap] Loved the review, especially the pictures very much. I feel the title very apt. Glad to hear that you are enjoying your new ride. Those alloys look awesome! Please do keep us updated.
Some questions:
  • Has the roof rack affected performance?
  • I have heard that the steering feedback is absent in Hyundai cars. Is it true for Creta?
Enjoy your ride and drive safe!
With regards,
Hari

Thanks Hari. Here's my feedback:

1) There's a lot of wind noise during cruising speeds. And felt that there's a drag. Not a deal breaker for me since I have only 4-5 long drives per year where most of them are in Kerala.
2) Steering is the best from Hyundai so far. There's a fluidic verna sharing my garage space and I can say this is good but not as good as it's other rivals like ecosport.

Definitely. The thread will be constantly updated.

Accessory Update - Sun Films

Added Garware Silver 70 films except for the front windshield. These are different from the ones I had on the Ecosport. This is a bit reflective but lighter tints with grayish shade. The ones I had on the ecosport was a bit darker than this with a greenish shade.

Havent really decided on the front films. Had planned on 3M CR70 but they are quoting 8k for the front films while Garware Icecool Shield is 4.5k. Have to decide and install in couple of weeks.

Initial Impressions:
1) A bit reflective than the ones on the Ecosport.
2) Parked the car outside for a day outside and it was pretty good when I got inside the car (better than the ones I had on the ecosport - need to really test it on more occasions before validating this claim )
3) Cabin cooled quickly than before.
4) Absolutely no problem with visibility.

Hi Naveen, just curious how do you alter your usage between Creta & Ecosport, ie (if some one in the family regularly uses the other car) am sure you as an expert will be having a different criteria.

I sold the ecosport and bought the creta. Am not in a position to manage to two cars [:)]. There's already a verna in my garage which is my dad's. Since he is not in India and I generally dont fancy the verna, it's being used by my cousin.

Similar figures for me too. But my recent drive to Bangalore gave around 22kmpl. Absolutely loving it.

Oh, that's a lot in 3.5 months. Enjoying it I hope. Mine is almost 8k now.

My neighbour (friend since we were kids),he has a verna while me a swift-One a perfect highway performer, while other a perfect handler and city cruiser.
We exhange rides, when he needs city use he uses mine, when i need highway drives i use his.

The topic is off-i added it as Mr.nanofreak had asked how to balance rides, its quite simple, use the rides based on environment taken to.

i found difficult when i needed to handle my swift and my cousin's fiesta classic, where control stalks are reversed, but now okay with it.

Hi,
I saw your car near a Hyundai showroom near Nettoor (I believe it is your car [:D] ). Your car looks good and well maintained. The carrier helps your car to stand out of the crowd. Any updates?
With regards,
Harikrishnan

Yes, that would be my car. Parked in front of Johnson Tiles, next to VTJ hyundai right? Thanks for those comments. I did wax the car last week. I had plans to install the front films since summer is around the corner. But holding that for now. And as for an update, the car crossed 8000 kms yesterday and now stands close to 8100 kms.
