Re: Honda Contemplating To Bring Maruti Ertiga Rival: Rumored name - Honda Mobilio

Yes but according a friend of mine in Jakarta, Mobilio seems hard to take over Suzuki Ertiga market because people in Indonesia always argue that Honda's sparepart too expensive than Suzuki [:)]

Only people who own multiple cars will know exactly what is cheap and expensive. I recently replaced wiper blades of our Maruti(WagonR) for Rs.260, while my Honda(Brio)s wiper are still in top condition despite being over 1 year old car. When price is high you'll get quality, when its low, the quality isn't there. And people need to change their mindset regarding some brands. Every Indian will say Maruti cars are 1. Cheap to service
2. Cheap Spares
3. Highest ASS Network

I'll agree with 3 but 1 & 2 are totally false after owning 3-4 cars in their portfolio.

This same attitude will be reason why Mobilio will sell less then Ertiga.

Honda launches 2 new Trims for Mobilio

New Trims V(O) & RS(O) now get Touch Screen Audio with CD Player/USB/Aux In/Bluetooth. Satellite Navigation is also present in the AVN. Along with this, the car features Wodden Interior Panels. It might be recalled that during Media Drives, the AVN had complaints and Honda announced that it will not make into production for Initial batches. While V(O) Trim is available in both Petrol & Diesel, the RS(O) will be Diesel Exclusive.

Well, this has further made Mobilio costlier than it is! The next upgarde should take it beyond Innova in pricing[;)]
As per the above article: The prices (ex showroom New Delhi) of the newly introduced grades of Mobilio are:
1.5L V(O) MT (Petrol) - Rs. 9.46 lakh
1.5L V(O) MT (Diesel) - Rs. 10.45 lakh
Mobilio RS(O) Diesel - Rs. 11.55 lakh
Well, I am at least happy that Honda heard the complaints of poor interior styling and looks like this is the interim adjustment what they could think off!
To me, this unit along with wodden inserts does not look OEM fit and the initial reviews during the media drives confirm the same.

Took delivery of our Mobilio VMT diesel today. Gold colour. Went for a short ride. Engine sounded nicer and quieter than City, both inside and outside. Horn is very weak, even for 2 wheeler it would be just OK, upgrade strongly recommended. Headlamps are also not satisfactory, probably due to the windscreen. I will comment on that after washing it.

I will be going to Pollachi tomorrow, I will update more after that trip.

Congratulations and happy motoring buddy. Engine is quieter compared to City. Headlamps normally provided are of low wattage hence they seem weak. Pair of 45w bulbs are used by manufacturers as per law. Do update them if needed. Please post pictures and a ownership report would be wonderful.

Thanks. Stock headlamps of our Verito vibe and Sail U-va is noticeably better than Mobilio's. However I will first try those extreme vision or night breaker before going for a relay.

Honda's variants are just not normal. Seat back pockets, auto door lock, etc...only on top variants.

No computer time for me these days, only mobile browsing. So, couldn't write a ownership report before holidays.

A small update:
Mobilio has a stiff suspension setup which performs well on undulations and also with full load. But you have to slow down for potholes, like a car. Xuv's rough road masking ability is on a whole other level. Mileage should be in the region of 18-20 kpl. Power is more than adequate. 1000 kms up now. I found headlight intensity to be low and glare on windscreen is on a higher side, compared to our 2/3 year old cars, Honda might have used a poor quality windscreen.

Congrats Crazy cat. Love to see your ownership thread with loads of pics. Honda city Headlamp and Horn is also weak. They both required an upgrade for our safety.
