Today I got delivery of Nexon XM diesel. I did 80 kms on highway to set my hands on it.The doors can be locked and opened with remote key. But I can not lock it or open it with mechanical key . I hope to get suggestion from you. I suspect something wrong with body control unit. Do you think so ?
Many congratulations on your new Nexon. Do post some pics of the car.
Regarding the door lock,it should open with the key too. Please show it at the ASS. Your car has the latest and new BCM, and therefore BCM error should not be there. It might be just an electrical glitch.

Thank you Mayankbhai. I devotely hope that there is no problem with Body Control Module. Tomorrow I will take it to ASS which is not far away from my residence. I am happy with the Tata accessories which I procured with 25% discount on MRP and also free fuel tank filling to full . In addition I purchased 20 L military surplus jerry can from oliveplanet.in .

Manual locking - unlocking issue resolved .It was not noticed while performing PDI at the dealer side nor at the manufacturing plant . It appears that lock was installed without performing quality check. A small pin supporting lock spring was misaligned. On paper the technology is excellent and at par with Land rover Jaguar reputation but when it comes to production Tata needs to do many things to build up new image. I will be using it mostly on highway for long distance travel. Earlier I had thought to go for Swift diesel but I think this car will serve my purpose in a better way.

Today I covered about 300 kms on highway mostly in sixth gear in ECO mode with average speed of 90 km/hr. The fuel average on display was constantly 26.8 km/litre. Steering feeling is very good. Earlier I had driven Honda WRV diesel for several hundred kms. I think handling is slightly better in Honda but it gives car like feeling rather than SUV. It is a fun to drive Nexon in Sport mode . It certainly gives SUV like feeling. Inside cabin the engine noise is well controlled and better than other diesel crossovers. I measured interior noise level to be 65 dB at 80 kms/hr speed in sixth gear in ECO mode. I think this is impressive and comparable with high price German diesel crossovers . I hope that it will give me trouble free service for a long time hoping that it has Landrover type quality[:)]

I totally agree with you on the the average part. I have been consistently getting 20-21km/l in the city and 27-30km/l on the highway, but only if driven patiently. Rash driving decreases it by 2-3 points.
I never drove the car in eco mode for those figures. City mode has been(always) fine by me.

I have installed seat back organiser in my Nexon. They are 2 in no.one for each seat back. Each one has 6 different types of pockets, including one zip secured closable pocket. What I liked most is that there is dedicated rectangular place for storing tissue paper box, and tissues can be taken out from the slit provided for it, without withdrawing the whole box.
They are made of carpet like material matching the car carpet colour. Now its easier to store bottles and lays and keys and other household items, without worry.
Rest is obvious in the pics.

Sorry for not making it clear that I didn't purchase them. They were gifted to me, and I am grateful for the gift as only now after using that I have been able to find how useful they are.

Hello TAIgers,
finally its time to go for second Service for my NEXY . just before having it serviced, wanted to know anything specific to be asked to check from OWNER point.

couple of things are there to get them checked.

1. feeling Jerks at the RPM <2000 during COLD starts. 2nd and 3rd gear the feel is clearly evident.

2. getting some noise in front dashboard left side, some loosened wire or something like.

any experienced OWNERS can suggest their views what else i need to ask to Check.

3. does the Tyre's are to be changed? i mean rotated front wheels to back wheels?
4. of course Alignment needs to be checked , how about Wheel Balancing ?

your inputs may help me to get the service done with all things checked.

Thanks
KRISH

Tata Nexon monthly sale increased to 4499 units in August 2018 from 3840 units in July 2018. All auto manufacturers are crying for Kerala flood for decline in sale ! I guess Nexon monthly sale will exceed 5000 units by the year end.

After my second services and completion of 5000 kms I rotated all 5 tyres myself. My SA was not ready to do it at the ASS. Details are already posted in this thread here:http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/ownership-reviews/32791-tata-nexon-ownership-review-living-nexon-life-23.html#post565779
thankyou Mayank, yes im done with my 2nd service and as you said, its same here as well, the SA didnt agreed to rotate the tyres and also alignment , he was showin in TATA service APP that, alignment and roating tyres work is not showing in APP so he cant do. [roll].
then i thought rather arguing here better we can rotate them ourselves(DIY) as you did [clap].

Suddenly I am facing lots of frosting and condensation issues. Now the rain has subsided, so condensation should be less. This is from the inside of the glass. It is very difficult to remove the water from glass completely . It simply has a tendency to return within 1min.
Side windows and rear hatch are involved more than the front.
