Hi. i own vista qjd. my vista odo currently reads 6682km. i have done a lot of highway runs and have done lot of 100+ speeds. i have NEVER faced any wobble/vibration of any sort. the max i have tried is 155kmph. it was rock stable.
Hello,

What was the tacho reading at 155kmph?

I got to 125kmph at 3k RPM.

My odo is reading 6285 today morning. Since last couple of weeks, I fell the boot door is not closing as smooth as earlier? Do you have any problems regarding the boot door closing?

My tacho reading was around 3000-3200rpm. I am sorry for not having observed that too keenly. i was more oriented towards the speedo than the tacho. I shall observe next time and report it here.

I do not face any problems while closing any of the doors. they all are working fine. the only hitch i face is while opening the rear left door from outside when they dont open the first time. I need to lock and unlock the central locking once/twice to open it smoothly. Touchwood! Everything else is working fine![thumbsup]

Thanks all for throwing light on the problem. Now to add more confusion my friend has added two more cars, although they cannot be compared.

original choice
Ford titanium diesel
Vista vx

additions
indigo ecs vx
verito d6 dci

Now I am also confused[frustration]. I liked indigo's pickup but verito is spacious and less noise inside cabin.

Hi Appu, why don't you start ownership review of your Vista?
Definetely will start once I get my car[evil]
I guess you have got delivery right?[confused]
Not yet buddy, My Uncle was expired 1st week of last month so my dad postponed the purchase of Vista. And we(myself & my dad) planned a trip to Sabarimala from 13-16th.so, once we are back from our Sabarimala trip we will bring Sedan class hatchback to our home..[:D]

155 @ 3200 is very good, I guess. I will try this out next time I hit e-way. But surely, I think these speeds are only to be done maximum 5-10 km and not more in any of our roads! I guess, you did the same. If not, request you to please try and limit your desire for speed. Take care!

The rear left door problem is with many cars in the Refresh II version. However, this is solved in my case at the time of second service. They did some lubrication stuff for that door assembly and fitments, now it is working fine.

Wow! Good going my dear friend,

Indigo ecs VX: Don't you think the quality of interiors is not up to the mark as compared to Vista & Figo? Rest all should be okay, I guess.

Verito d6 dci: Have only touched Logan once, unable to comment much except the clutch is very hard (may be the vehicle I drove was not well maintained, but I heard that it was normal with Logans!)

Yes. I did that speed for not more than 5-10kms. You know how our indian roads are. I did this run on NH4 when i was heading to goa with my friends! [cheers]. Awesome raod. I am a sedate driver and never go beyond un-controllable speeds which may cause uneventful incidents. I stay within 120kmph. I promise to check the tacho next time and shall get back to you.

I did not complain about the rear door opening problem to the service advisor during 2nd service. I will check next time and try to get it fixed.

So down south Vista(sedan class) is selling well, atleast Tata's hard work has now paid off,so Tata if you are listening keep facelifting!!
Even in Chennai new Vista is doing well. I myself get confused sometimes seeing the car in the ORVM.
Especially with the June promos, for the Vista Refresh Quadrajet, there is a maximum of Rs.60,000 discount (10k cash discount + 50k Exchange bonus if you exchange your petrol car) (in case if you exchange your diesel car you get only 30k Exchange bonus), it's mouth watering deal.

The ad itself stated something like,"why still stuck with petrol; change it to our diesel" or something like that. Please correct me if I'm wrong in this count.

At first when I checked with VST motors, AnnaNagar, Chennai, the SE told me that the 60k discount is only if we buy their petrol as petrol is the one which aren't moving. When I explained to him about the deal on the newspaper, then he made a few calls and corrected himself.

By the way, I test drove Sedan class Vista VX (Summer sparkle) from Concorde Motors, Ambattur IE, Chennai.
As already mentioned here by other members about the loads of features, comfort level and a quite a few cons, I'm not going into details of these particulars again. I liked the car, the price and the exchange offer. So, I wanted to take another TD with my family at the back seat just before booking.

When I took the TD for the second time, it was a Grey LS version offered. When I cranked the engine, it was super silent and there was no noise or vibrations inside the cabin. I asked the SE how many KMs done on that vehicle. He said "48" pointing to the odo.

Shifted into the 1st and voila! Started moving as smooth as silk but the needle on the speedo was laid to rest!(?) I asked the SE why the needle wasn't moving and no reply. I didn't feel like driving it anymore. However, I could not turn right away na! So, I took it for more spins. On casual chatting with him, he mentioned that it's going for a TD to Aminjikarai (some 10km from the showroom); also, I had some interest in booking white VX right away (as I was worried about the forthcoming excise duty hike) and asked him if white VX was available and he confirmed that it was available. "If so, I would book it right away. Could you please give me the VIN number?" I asked. He coolly brushed me aside by saying,"Sir! Why do you need all these numbers? Just trust and pay me (make a payment)! I'll deliver a good car to you"
He lost a sale over there right away! :(
Then, I booked a Punto Dynamic is the reality! :)

I've also seen over there quite a few families cancelling their Ertiga & swift bookings (due to long waiting period & looming excise duty ahead) and changing over to punto.

I think TATA has clearly lost the monopoly of having great diesel cars.My uncle wanted to sell off his Alto and buy a diesel car.And guess what he is not even thinking about a TATA.I also do not see as many sedan class Vistas now as I used to see 4 months back.In this diesel derived time its amazing that a petrol based company like Suzuki is having a hey day while diesel based TATA are just licking their wounds.

Dear LaTour
I own a Vista TDI-had v similar buying experience. The car is v stable at high speeds and comfortable. However as you experienced ASS is not their strength. It has niggles that will irritate you. But-would i buy a Vista again-Yes-Overall its v good value for money. If you get after the service team, you can get reasonable service.
However, now with your Punto-the above rant is not relevant-however,its the same ASS team for the moment-a suggestion-find the email id of the manager at Ambattur and mail him before you go for every service and meet him every time you go there.

I concur with you 100% that Vista (VX-my choice) is a VFM. However, in life, when we spread our wings, we are spoiled by the luxuries, namely service, we experience elsewhere. Such interactions make us to take a decision either for or against a product.
When I got the first Vista VX Summer sparkle for TD, odo was working. The next Vista LS Grey TD, odo wasn't working with 43kms on it. Yesterday, they had another white LS available for TD and only God knows if the odo is on or off. (I believe that they don't have an assigned TD Vista vehicle with them). That's what made me to go against the Vista as I'm not sure how many vehicles they've used for TD with or without odo.

Thanks tdcarlover for your suggestion to get in touch with the service manager of the service station. [clap]

As my punto is PDI-d yesterday, I've a couple of concerns posted here in this thread.

Could you all please go through it and guide me if I can accept the vehicle or not.
Your help is much appreciated as I've to confirm my choice by Monday.
Thanks

Good offers going ob vista, 10k bonus + 40k exchange till 30 June 2012
Here in Chennai, it's 10k cash discount + 50k xchange bonus (if you exchange your petrol to Vista diesel)
If you exchange your diesel vehicle to diesel Vista, then it's 10k cash discount + 30k (only) exchange bonus.
