I think that is some sort of feature. I had read about this in the manual. After reading the manual I tried this, but couldn't understand the functionality, got confused :P
There will be slight beep sound as well when you push the stalk, if you notice.
You are spot on. The direction of the indicator stalk determines which parking lamp remains on, and yes, there is a beep too. I wonder what's the use of this feature.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Well Guys, It finally happened but a bit too early...
Car was parked outside my apartment, so far I hadn't seen a case of any accidents, the watchman called me to have a look at the car and then I was disappointed to find the Rear bumper edge was crushed, a little dent at the edge of the above the wheel base, took it to Ford, he estimated total cost to be around 12 - 15k, new bumper, painting for bumper, labour charge, and removing the dent from the body just at the edge of bumper fitting, I'm going with Insurance for this.
Seems to be a case of someone trying to park their car behind mine has bumped and then left...

@doc - i dont have any idols on the dashboard so the sound is definitely coming from inside and the damage looks bad. Did the locks came out too ? Don't go for the insurance if the bumper is intact ( not cracked)
Remember my bumpers dent ? Got it fixed for 150rs from a local mechanic. He opened the locks and pushed the bumper and for the main dent he used that hot gun and then pushed it. Now i have just 3 scratches. Will upload pic tomorrow.

@ icewise - i hope its nothing major and maybe i pushed the accelerator without knowing :p will keep a look at it.

@allhyundaicars - Bumper has come out at the far edge, it is not getting clipped and bumper plastic is partially broken as it can be seen in two places.
Just show this to a mechanic/bodywork shop, he will remove 90% of the visible damage within minutes. The bumper needs a push from inside and I guess you will have to remove it completely and then put it in place (as it will not clip in the current state). I agree that this will not remove the damage completely but is worth a try as it will cost much less than the expense quoted (wull hardly take 500 bucks).

IMO there is no need to waste your NCB on this. [:)]

@ice_wise - since the car is New I thought it is best I get it sorted out at the forum with proper new bumper, I can at least feel like it is still new and don't want to come across with rattling sounds after fixing a damaged bumper, it hasn't just come out but the fiber plastic is broken (torn)

Right. It is your car and entirely your wish to repair or replace the part. I thought that removing and trying to bring it back to shape would be worth a try. There is zero risk involved. If not satisfied with the result in hand, you have the option of removing the bumper again (and bring it to the state it is currently in) and claiming insurance as they will anyway provide you a new part. I assume that there is no deep scratch on the bumper (except the 2 cuts that you mentioned) and a rubbing compound will do the job. Rattling from the exterior parts like bumper is something very uncommon and I don't think it will cause any problems if the locks are not broken/cracked.

That was just my point of view. [:)]

@ice_wise - Thanks appreciate your advice, but it looks even worst than from the picture, if it hadn't broke I would have considered getting it fixed as it is.

@allhyundaicars - From the pic it cannot be seen the bumper plastic kinda torn, so even after fixing it can look ugly otherwise I would have gone with repairing it.

Today i casually sat on a pavement and noticed a puddle underneath the car. It had already been 2 hours since the car was parked.

Reversed it only to find out it was water :p
2 folks came towards the car after listening the diesel engine's sound and kept checking the car inside out( i was talking on my phone and least interested to say anything to them) the thing i overheard " the car isn't wide enough and length is short"
Go on and compare the car with grand i10.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Hi Guys, this is my first post to this forum so please bear with me if any mistakes. It been a month with my 1.2 P Figo Trend. It happened twice. The brake pedal became dead hard when driving at 2nd gear with low RPM and about to stop the car. I was completely unable to stop the car and it kept moving forward. I had to pull the hand brake fully to stop the car [frustration]. Luckily it was an empty stretch of road 1st time. But 2nd time I almost hit the car in front of me. Please help me out if any one of the figo owner had faced similar issue. I am not able to simulate the issue again. Is it because I was driving at half clutch? [confused] Please help

Was the engine running at that time when the brake pedal became hard?

Yeah it was in 2nd gear both the times and revving above 1500 rpm as far I remember. Brake pedal became dead and I pulled the hand brake completely so engine stalled and came to halt.

Go get the car checked for brake, take time with the service manager to discuss the issue,if the car was driven in half clutch the brakes will be normally low, and the clutch engagement point if its too early too the brakes will be very hard,

Try reversing the car into a slope and apply brake, if the same situation arises like lack of braking, be sure to check it with service center, I have a 2010 Figo petrol and brakes are weak when car is in reverse and it will feel abnormally hard to stamp on, ;lately only I understood that thats how Ford does it with its brakes, we must be super cautious with it while reversing, its done for brake modulation and wear and tear masking, engine torque in lower gears and in reverse is high, so the car will push forward with just clutch, so the brakes will act less since its ECU is programmed to have an anti stall feature which applies a little bit more clutch than we actually apply, so gradually the brakes will be lower since clutch is active, anyway have the car checked with a technicality [confused]
