Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

I don't believe that the engineers at Sanand plant are incompetent. If that would be the case, even the engineers at swift manufacturing plant are incompetent considering how a new swift starts rattling within a few months, but that doesn't seem to be the case since the swift is being manufactured since long ago. It just seems to me like a design issue, which needs to be addressed by ford. Even my two month old car makes slight 'khat khat' sound from, I don't know, maybe the left side of the dashboard. Rest everything seems alright to me.

Regarding the hatch not closing properly, it just needs to be closed with a slight force, just as you do with the doors.
There is chance of labour not doing their duties, it can happen for Maruti or Ford, irrespective of brand, the factory PDi too can cause this issue, this happens even in Europe at month ends, at month ends the target if not achieved some factory workers green flag cars with minimum attention to detail and PDI, so there is more chance for this to happen in India where pay scale too will be lower,
But I too believe this can be mended by Ford Service centers.

first about the rattling issues.
members who are getting rattle near the passenger side door please check if the seat belt buckle is not the source of the rattle. because today i noticed it banged the plastic in every pothole.

yes a rattle is indeed present just behind the odo. i can hear it everyday. will report this at the center when i get the time.
Could you also pls share the average speed limit you maintain, On board people, ratio in city & Highway and any luggage occupied.
My ODO is at 2483KM and mileage is at 24.8 in recent trip of 400KM in which (190 KM done @ 80 KMPH and balance @ 60-70KMPH), 90 % AC usage, On board 3, Boot half luggage and 30:70 city & Highway. According to MID values After tank full ODO trip 1 fig :487 , Avg kmpl 24.8, Distance to empty: 812 ,that means it should be 30 KMPL Avg. Let me check till fuel gauge needle reaches half of the tank mark to get an idea on real values.,

Share some nice pics from expo too...
Second that. I mostly was alone in my 2100 kms so far, and in 100% city, no ac usage, managed 18 kmpl as per the latest numbers by tank full. Your numbers are much better than mine, please do share all the above mentioned parameters as asked by mikemk91! Maybe my daily running average of 32kms is to blame here?
70% of the time i travel alone. the other 30% is a mix of 2-4 passengers and 100% city drive. went to the expo in my friend's car so couldn't check the mileage on expressway. pics are posted in the expo thread.
average speed is just 19kmph. i get less traffic at night on my way home (20 minutes) but in day it takes a minimum of 35 minutes for the same route and crawling traffic.
yes you can get an idea when the needle reaches the half mark. mine is always near 300kms. also when the needle reaches the quarter mark , the tank takes in 25 liters so you can check mileage on the quarter mark as well.

Most of figo owners are facing rattling issue. Is this same with other 2015 maruti or hyundai cars.

In my case, rattling occurs only on rough surfaces, and today I noticed on a really bad road that the left wiper was banging against the windshield and creating a rattle. Do keep an eye on the wiper next time, maybe that is the culprit.

@ abhishek - every car has different rattles and it's not that every car has rattle. my 2012 verna still doesn't rattle.
anyways it's not a big deal to reject a car because of rattle or else maruti couldn't sell any car.

@ afterburner - that's strange. make sure the wiper is fitted correctly. it shouldn't hit the windshield like that no matter what surface you are driving on

Hi everyone. Its my first post on TAI.I have been following this forum since long. I am proud owner of ford figo titanium sparkling gold. Unfortunately i met with a minor accident yesterday. I hit a rock while parking at friends place . The front bumber has dented . 20160206015746.jpg
I m wondering how to get in repaired. The nasik FASS is quoting around Rs 3000. He says the entire bumber needs to be repainted after some heat work.

3000rs seems fine. i was quoted 5000rs for the rear door.
if you think it's a sore to your eyes then only get it repaired otheriwse leave it as it is and get it done after some time.

Once again a disaster sales figure for the Figo as it sold only 1770 cars, while the old figo last year sold 2056 cars on the same month. It pretends me to upset that i had made the decision soon to buy this car[cry].But I'm sure that if the same car came under Hyundai or Maruthi then it will set a milestone.I really feel so bad for the Ford poor marketing team.[sad]

I know a friend who bought Swift top end came around 8.4 lacs or something, he just bought it because everyone was buying swift and it had ABS and airbags, when I told him my car is more powerful and offers almost same features, he refused to believe it ;) and tells he paid more so he has better car...

People don't care about the specification of car, but just go by opinion of the mass, don't do any research or go in detail of comparing with other cars technically and feature wise...Lets educate these car buyers then Ford will have its count that of Maruti's sales which is at today.

It's their fear of the other brand other than maruti that's keeping them from buying other than maruti. They will buy an overpriced car but dread the so called 'service costs' of the other brand, even though they are pretty much the same. Though the monthly sales nos. don't affect me as I am internally satisfied in my mind with my Figo, the foolishness of the general buying public does get me sometimes. Not at all worried though, Figo will find its home in the informed buyer's garage [;)]

sorry to hear that from you friend, that too on the first post. Try getting a quote from a local garage. Heat work would repair the area by 90%. You can avoid painting the area right now and save some money for later.

Thanks guys. But does heat work require the entire bumper to pe repainted as the FASS is saying? Or it can be painted to the local area only.
The cost of new bumper told to me was 2500 plus 3500 painting cost. I thing it would be better to get
a new bumper later on. Also bumpers don't come prepainted from factory? Im skeptical whether paint job will be as good as factory.
