If I ever buy this thing the first thing on agenda is to rip the headlight assembly and fit with something else. Rest looks OK except the pillion seat needs a little more space .(I ride 60% time with pillion )

SCOOP! Mahindra Mojo makeover

Mahindra 2-Wheelers revealed their flagship motorcycle model, the 300cc single-cylinder Mojo streetbike back in 2010, slated for an early 2011 launch. It’s been a while since, with little available news trickling out, although we do now believe the Mojo will finally launch in some months to come, with completely revised styling, looking very different to what the company has revealed in the past. We don’t presently have images of the new Mojo to come, but expect it to sport a revised fuel-tank, and sporty fairing panels as compared to the more basic looking, naked motorcycle seen this far.

Mahindra has already stated the Mojo will use a four-stroke, 292cc, fuel-injected and single-cylinder engine. Its four-valve head will deploy dual-overhead camshafts and the liquid-cooled engine shall generate maximum power in the region of 25.8bhp, with peak torque of about 2.5kgm. The Mojo has already been seen as using top spec upside down front forks and a monoshock rear suspension. For stopping power, the Mahindra Mojo is equipped with a 320mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brake.

We look forward to seeing this new Mahindra motorcycle in showrooms across India in the near future, while it will be interesting to see how Mahindra prices and positions their flagship model, with KTM and Bajaj having set a tall example in the same segment, with competitive pricing for their recently launched KTM 390 Duke streetbike.

Spied – Mahindra Mojo test mule hints at mild restyling attempts

The Mahindra Mojo is at an advanced stage of testing but the final product is most likely to look a little different from the one that was showcased at Auto Expo 2012.

Mahindra 2 Wheelers has apparently decided to give its 300cc flagship a design makeover even before the launch to iron out its quirky character. The shape of the fuel tank and the bare bones twin headlamp units polarized opinions.

Don’t know whether the fuel tank shape will change, the latest spyshots of the Mojo test mule suggest that the naked motorcycle will get a bikini fairing of sorts. If you look closely under the disguise, additional body colored bits below the twin headlamps which were absent on the original design.

The disguise on the fuel tank doesn’t reveal a thing but the rest of the motorcycle remains unchanged. Except the new front fairing to sport minimal bodywork to maintain the bike’s naked appeal.

To recap, the Mahindra Mojo is powered by a 292cc single-cylinder liquid cooled engine mated to a 6-speed transmission. The fuel injected motor delivers 25.8bhp and 25 Nm of torque. The equipment level is on par with rivals, the main contender being the KTM Duke 200.

Why the hell on earth all the manufacturers are eliminating the pillion for Gods sake [anger] .
Whats the fun without a pillion in long tours .

@ IndicaDLS2002 Buddy they have two already and this may be their third.

I must admit the new design does look more appealing. I can't
tell how the headlamp is now but the rear-end is sexy!

Good job M&M for the new design!

As @maximas007 said, it should have a better pillion. Without that the
appeal of going on long tours with this bike is already half-lost.

Mahindra Mojo to be launched in June

At the Auto Expo 2014, a senior official from Mahindra 2Wheelers had informed us that the launch version of the Mojo would see very little changes compared to the version shown at the Expo. The official also told us that only the necessary tooling for the manufacturing at the plant-level and some performance tests need to be completed.

The Mojo is powered by a liquid cooled DOHC, four-stroke single cylinder 250 cc engine that develops 27 hp and a peak torque output of 25 Nm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The ECU on the Mojo controls both the fuel injection and a digital ignition with a closed loop system. The bike gets twin headlamps with daytime running lights.

A few changes have been made to the Mojo, compared to the debut vehicle from 2012. The company has added what it calls ‘Air deflection panels’ and the horizontal bars from the Centuro.

Mr.AMG,How can you expect Mahindra to price it under a Lakh ? It's a 250cc Bike whereas That Rs.1 Lakh budget,The best we could get is the Pulsar 200 NS,220F and the TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS.It will sell like Hot Cakes at under Rs.1 Lakh But It is 80% Impossible.IMHO,I feel They would definitely price it at 1.3-1.6 Lakhs.I also feel it would be perfect pricing in that Bracket. They have been testing this bike for almost 2 Years and They would have definitely spent Crores in Research & Development for this Bike.It looks Much better than the Inazuma but Build quality is a question as Suzuki and TVS had given a good name in Build quality like from the Samurai and Shogun.Hope the Mojo doesn't end up Overpriced like the Inazuma and then reducing the price in bombs like the Nexia !! Thank you

The fact is that Mahindra is not an established player and has to do something radical to get consumers in the showroom.

And its 300cc bike.
And TVS has bad build quality.

Not as bad as the BAjaj, but definitely not as good as Yamaha/Honda/Suzuki either.
