Korando - The New SUV from M&M.

After the recent tie up with the Korean car maker, SsangYong, M&M might release the former's well-known Korando in India. The name Korando is a contraction of "Korea Can Do".

Specs :

Engine : 2.0L Turbo Diesel

Power : 173 bhp

Torque : 367nm at 2000-3000rpm

Wheelbase : 2650mm

Tyres : 225/60 R17

Price : Might be priced between the Scorpio and the W201. Approx 15L.

And the interior picture confirms its a five seater with hatchback like space for luggages.

Looks real nice, Sounds real weird, The name that is. Also seems a bit over-priced, But then again have to see it close up to judge on that.

Ideology behind the name Korando is great. Why not we think of such things in India? This looks like a practical SUV that India has been demanding for years, ever since Tucson and Grand Vitara proved to be a letdown due to little negligence by their manufacturers. Let’s hope the brand name of Mahindra should help Korando becoming a success and if priced slightly more affordable, it could definitely make as a win-win deal.

looks are mighty and the fordable seat is tempting me to put a sleeping mattress and a pillow in boot.

should not price above 15lakh. india becomes very choosy if anything regarding auto goes abouve 15l.

This is going to be one practical urban SUV from Mahindra! Somehow the five-seater SUV segment din do well in India , either it was over-priced or it din have a diesel heart!

If priced at 15L would be hot seller. The looks of the vehicle is mind blowing. But await to see if Mahindra would rebadge the car with Mahindra brand logo and change the name.

all compact suvs in india like this have been overpriced. wonder when tata can price car like aria under 15 lakhs why not these guys?? its going to be big success in this range and mahindra tag will be cherry on top..

Finally, the Korando has been sighted on the Indian land. The upcoming Mahindra / Ssangyong Korando was spotted testing on the Western Express Highway with MH-2 number plates, by Indian Autos Blog. According to Mahindra, Korando C and Rexton are two SUVs from Ssangyong which are apt for the market like India.
