Re: My Hyundai Grand i10 Asta (O) Petrol Ownership Review

Does any Grand magna owner post the pic of the dashboard and the console. I just want to take a look at how the interiors look without the inbuilt ICE setup. I am confused between buying Magna vs Sportz. Looking forward for your help guys.

hello guys recently i booked grand i10 asta (O) petrol, after cancelling brio, when i was in showroom i saw people applying sun film on new car which is yet to register, i asked the sales executive, he said this is less then 50% visible, so its approved for registration, and we can have registered many vehicles like this. can anyone conform this.

hi partha, kartik

Though my car does not have this battery drain problem but what I have found out even me without raising the issue to service people they updated my software and since then my boot lamp is not working. This is backed by the fact that Hyundai earlier suspected the boot lamp as the culprit for this issue. can you tell me whether your boot lamp is working or not after software update ( I doubt they have permanently switched off the lamp in software update)?

The Boot lamp works strangely in my car. It occasionally turns on but later it doesnt turn on. [anger] I too didnt bother to do much research on this as I have seen bigger problems in this car.

The only advice to all my friends who are facing this battery issue is, just ignore this problem and keep using your car atleast once in 3-4 days. I have been promised many things by this Hyundai guys but was always disappointed. I too wasted close to one and half month keeping my car idle and trying to figure out if the issue is fixed and never got to enjoy this new car. Now I am using this car atleast in 5-6 days of idle and it always starts good.

Today they delivered my car after 3 days keeping it in workshop.
Checked, boot lamp is working.
I will test once again by keeping my car idle for 7 days once again.

Even I am doing on the same lines, but my bigger worry is when I go out for week or more then everytime the car has to be jump started. Or to avoid this I have to switch off the FUSE. IS that compromizing with Safety??

I dont think there is much of the security concern. In other cars also, when we are going to keep the car idle for a month or so we should anyhow disconnect the battery terminals as any car's battery will get drained after some time. Its just that we want at least 20 days on our disposal in case of grand. I could successfully start the car after 9-10 days last month but still skeptical about 20+ days. Almost all the thieves on the earth will try to disable the alarm before stealing a car as all the cars in modern era (one with a remote entry not even 'keyless') are equipped with a lowly security feature such as 'siren'( I witnessed in Ritz's , Dzire's low variants) . Its better to switch off the fuse and save yourself from unnecessary trouble later on. A good lock on the gate or a moderately lazy guard of the housing society are much more effective than a siren. Hmm thats of major concern then. You must use one of these from ebay when you are going to idle car for longer period.

Universal Steering Pedal Lock ROD | eBay

For time being you can put a cheap cell phone (with an active sim card fully charged in silent mode) in the boot of your car (well hidden). In case of theft it will help trace the car instantaneously. Of course cellphone has to be charged every 4-5 days.
