well, I will be buying the Manual highline because I prefer Manual cars.
Petrol Jetta is not available in India so will be going for 2.0 Tdi 140 bhp Highline Manual.
Service cost of VW and Skoda is similar so nt a big deal for me.

Perfect choice mate, you won't regret it at all. Just in case, it doesn't appease you for some reason (I know one, cornering), have a TD of the fluence. I was lucky to have a short spin in it yesterday, and man it was amazing. Tried cornering at quite speeds intending to scare the occupants [evil] but to my dismay anybody hardly noticed what I am doing and were calm as can be. [surprise]. The only downside would be it's unproven in the market and the A$$ network is too thin.

what I heard is euro cars has really high maintenance cost

my mate got Audi A6
basic service cost - 1600 dollars ( 80,000 rupees)
BMW 5 Series , Service cost - 1300 dollars ( 65000 rupees)

I am guessing thats alot to spend for a service

I spend about 3-400 dollars max on my skyline
