Coolpad Note 5 launched in India, priced at Rs 10,999: Specifications, features

coolpad-note-5-india-launch.jpg

Coolpad has today indeed launched the Note 5 in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs 10,999, and will be going on open sale exclusively via Amazon India from October 20. The Note 5 is Coolpad’s ‘Made in India’ smartphone and as the name suggests, it is the successor to the Coolpad Note 3, which was launched in India for Rs 8,499.

As far as the design is concerned, Coolpad’s Note 5 boasts a unibody metal design. This something we have seen companies increasingly adopt on smartphones in this range. It adds a premium-ness, and is much better than devices featuring plastic bodies. Adding to the premium-ness is also a 2.5D curved glass up front, similar to what we saw on the Coolpad Mega 2.5D.

Gionee P7 Max with 5.5-inch HD display, 13-megapixel camera launched: Price, specifications and features

gionee-p7-max-launched.jpg

Days after launching the S6 Pro in India, Gionee has introduced a new smartphone under its ‘P series’, called the Gionee P7 Max. Available in Nepal currently, the Gionee P7 Max is priced at NPR 21,999, which is Rs 13,800 approximately. Right now there’s no word on when the smartphone will be available in India. The P7 Max comes with metal unibody and does not have fingerprint sensor, which is very surprising considering the fingerprint readers are increasingly becoming common in smartphones across all price categories.

The Gionee P7 Max looks very similar to the recent Gionee smartphones like the S6 Pro and S6s. The front is dominated by display with front camera on top, and capacitive touch buttons on at the bottom panel. The back has the camera module on top followed by Gionee branding and speaker grille at the bottom. The back panel seems to have been inspired by Asus’ Zenfone 3 as it also has concentric-circle pattern.
