This is encouraging news for us enthusiasts. A Polo 1.6 does sound incredibly good on paper, I just hope that VW gives the car some exterior make-up so that it stands out from its lesser 3-pot siblings. Even the price tag of Rs.7,10,000 does seem a bit reasonable when you compare it to something like the Jazz. Also, in the face of such competition, Ford India are bound to come up with some sort of retaliation. And that's what probably may give birth to a "Ford Figo 1.6S" as well. And if that is true then well, it's jolly good days ahead for the driving gurus!

I completely agree with Amaan. Rather than the 1.6S for the Figo, it'd be great if Ford brings the Focus RS here. Price it as close as possible to the Polo 1.6 and voila, Volkswagen can say buh-bye!! Even if Ford plans to make a 1.6S Figo, it will a Figo plonked with a Fiesta mill.

Ford, can we have the Focus RS? Please?

yes this Colt will make more sense. But mainly why the FocusRS would cost close to Evo price is because it also has the same power and also handles like a dream!

Nah
Mustang is all show and no go.(all muscle cars are)
I love the dream like handling of the evo.
Moreover, I would rather prefer a WRC winner than american muscle(or should I call it FAT?:stupid:)

The Ford Focus RS is still a distant dream for us Indian folk, who have to make do with teeny-weeny 1.2 litre 3-cylinder "so-called" engines. And be assured, the Focus will cost no less than Rs.20 lakh even if they choose to bring it to India someday. And that sort of cash is something that most driving enthusiasts cannot afford. So what we exactly need right now, is the sublime 1.6 litre petrol from the Fiesta 1.6S, plonked straight into the Figo's engine bay, really sporty grey alloys, a stiffer suspension set-up, an even sportier body kit (complete with all the showy skirts and a big spoiler at the back) and some bright colour options (like a Canary Yellow, or a Racy Red or best of all, Aquarius Blue [evil]) and we might be looking at the best budget driver's car that can be bought today.

@ amaan
I have done a detailed cost analysis of focus in the post right above you.

And how does a Laura RS or a Fabia RS sound to your ears?

that is really ambitious but i'm not complaining! [clap]
we are really going off-topic.
Back to topic, for now this Polo seems the only option if u want a fast and good handling hatch.
