Volkswagen Group To Dilute Stake in India

A recent media report indicates that Volkswagen Group is looking to dilute its 100% stake in its Indian subsidiary, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVIPL).

• The proposed partnership will help sharing production capacities, vehicle architectures and investments in future product development and technologies.
• Volkswagen Group is looking to leverage its local manufacturing footprint for production of electric vehicles in India as well as abroad in second-half of this decade.
• JSW Group and Mahindra are rumored to have shown interest for a potential partnership. Volkswagen and Mahindra also recently signed an agreement for the supply of MEB electric components.
