Stylish New Mercedes Benz M-Class Launch Coverage

Mercedes-Benz’s brand new 2011 M-class SUV is just around the corner. The new machine will replae the current version in the coming months. Needless to say, the sales of the current-gen SUV will dwindle down slowly as the launch date of the new version comes closer. To keep the interest of customers in the handsome looking SUV alive, M-B India is planning to launch a new edition of the M-class. The new variant will be price about Rs. 5 lakh rupees more than its stock version. M-B India has christened the new version ‘ M-class Grand Edition’. What’s new? Well, the Grand Edition will have a new exterior and interior styling changes, including a set of daytime running LED lights. The Grand variant will ride on 19 inch wheels, will have dark shadows (tint) around its eyes (it’s ageing you see), aluminium roof rails, and a few other goodies.From the inside, the car will feature new wood trim parts, special leather upholstery and designer cabin lighting. Apart from introducing the M-class, the triple pointed star is planning to bring the R-class to India this Diwali, and guess what? The bookings for at car are already open. Source: Motoroids

Btw, I too have seen this in Pune/PCMC. 2 at Chakan MIDC, 1 at Bund Garden Road.

After unveiling this mighty SUV at Auto Expo in presence of bollywood star Farhan Akhtar; Mercedes Benz has now officially launched the much-anticipated New M-Class in India. This car is a unique blend of stylish design along with rugged looks and plethora of features. The 3rd Generation M-Class is another leap ahead to the advancement. It comes packed with an altogether fresh design of the exteriors as well as interiors and a revised chassis and suspension. Here are some useful insights from the launch that took place just sometime back in New Delhi:

> There are total two versions on offer in India: ML 350 CDI and AMG.

> Since being imported as CBU, only 100 units of AMG variant are available. Deliveries (for both models) begin from next month onwards.

> Mercedes has competitively priced both the variants at Rs.56.9 Lakhs for ML 350 CDI and Rs.66 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi) for AMG.

> The 3-Liter ML350 churns out 258.33 PS @ 3,600 RPM and Torque of 620 NM @ 2,400 RPM.

> These impressive figures enables the New M-Class to touch 0-100 Kmp/h in mere 7.4 seconds with a top-speed of 224 Kmp/h.

> Mercedes Benz is targeting businessmen and young entrepreneurs who travel long distances and have to tackle different conditions, such as construction sites etc.

> The company claims that this car is also suitable for women drivers who would find features such as park assist handy.

> True to the tagline of “Best or Nothing, Mercedes Benz has generously offered plentiful safety and comfort features and the car’s overall quality is truly top-notch.

On a side note:

> Mr.Peter Honegg has confirmed about the Merc's plan of launching New B-Class in India.

> Mercedes has constructed an off-road track on their plant near Pune which should open within a month or so.
