Hello everyone,

I am planning to replace my factory installed car audio system in my Lancer, I have decided after reading all around that i shud go in for the following system, but i need help from u guys as i hv selected the best system for my price or i shud amend it.

1. HU: Pioneer 7150 or 5190 (my choice is for 7150 coz of its looks) though both have 3 RCA outs.

2. Rear speakers: JBL GTO 948 400 W 3-way 6x9 OR Infinity REF9633i 300W 3-Way 6" X 9" Coaxial Speaker

3. Front components: JBL GT5-S265C OR 608 C (plz advice on which is better and VFM)

4. SUB: JBL CS1215 T (1100W 12") or SONY XS-GTX150LE with 1300 watt with box.

5. Amp: JBL GT5-S644 (800watt 4 Ch) [for powering the rears and front compos]

6. Mono Amp: JBL GTO3501 (I saw on JBL website tht SUB is 275 W RMS @ 4 ohms but mono amp is 225W RMS @ 4 ohm,,, so will this combination be compatible or shud i got for SONY XM-GTR3301D mono amp which has 330W @ 4 ohm,, which wud be better for the JBL bass tube)

I think Pioneer 7150 will get around 10-12K, and the JBL stuff around 23K,,I want to limit myself to below 35K or at max to 40 K, so plz advice me on the same, or if i can get a good 2DIN HU with LCD display with 3 RCA out
I might extend it a bit, so please advice me on my picks as to which i chose and which to leave. I want really good sound and Tight thumping bass,

Hello Mittal,

Welcome to The Automotive India & have a great stay.

For a budget of 40K I would suggest you to change the complete setup if you wish to.

All imports or atleast few imports.

You can play a lot with that huge money, please dont invest on JBL. Might hurt many, but sorry!!

I am not a fan of JBL if you are spending anything greater than 20K

plz suggest me then on one. as to which one shud i go for?
Hi Mittal,

For a Budget of 40K you can get a very good setup.

Get a Kenwood HU, KDC-X7016, the SQ of this HU is just less to none in that price range. It costs 14K MRP and you can get a discount and it should not cost you more than 13K.

Get a Infinity reference sub--5.5K. the best sub for SQ and good thump in that price range.

get a good set of components 6.5 to 7K

Get a good rear speakers 6x9 3.5 to 4 K

get a Focal solid 4 amp. Give two channels to the front comps and bridge the rear two channels to the Sub woofer.

Power the rear speakers directly from the HU.

You shall have a blasting setup. Good SQ and I would say a very good SQL setup.

COST:

Head-unit: 13000
Components: 7000
Rear speakers:4000
Focal Solid 4 amp:13000

4gauge wiring kit and installation 5000.

Total would be 42000. A 2000 rupees overshot but really worth it.

Try them.

If you have the money yes, mono is greatly suggested. Since your budget was 40K, I gave you the best possible configuration within that cost.

For your information.

I also have a 30 day used Boston G510-44 Subwoofer and a Focal Solid 1 mono amplifier for sale. i also have a 20-day used Kenwood x7013 for sale. If you would be interested.

But the sub and the mono will be out of your budget.

The cost is as follow.

1. Subwoofer: I purchased for 18K, now I am selling it for 13K
2. Focal Mono: I purchased for 13K, selling it for 10K
3. Kenwood KDC-X 7013--I purchased for 13K and I am selling it for 10K.

The above are being just coz, I am planning to upgrade. They are really good and used only from November 1st week as I had installed them only at that week.

If you are interested it is good.

Otherwise I can say that the Kenwood HU's are really great SQ oriented than the Pioneer HU's.

Even I would say for a budget of 40k, you can get a pretty impressive setup -

Pioneer HU with USB/AUX/3 preouts : 8000
Front components - Illusion/Kicker/Ground Zero : 7000
Rear coaxials - Illusion/JBL/Polk/Kicker : 4000
4 ch amp for front & rear speakers - JBL S644 : 5000
Sub - Ground Zero/ID/Rockford Fosgate/Kicker : 8000
Wiring + RCA cables + Fuse + sealed subwoofer box : 3000
Labour : 1000

Thats a total of 36,000. If your max budget is 40k, get a 2 ch amp for the sub else better extend your budget by 4k & get a mono amp for the sub...
hope this was of some help.

1. HU is fine. ok
2. i liv in lucknow and its hard to find these brands for front components, i can get JBL components or at max infinity, suggest which is better.
3. rear coax--which is better jbl 948 or infinity, though jbl has more rms
4. amp -- jbl s644. i can get and its OK
5. sub again is a problem... jbl i can get and i can get infinty woofers or sub with bass box. but tht is 14K. cant get any of the ones u say as nt available.

My point is tht...is it worth adding a mono amp(9-10K) to jbl bass tube or i can power jbl tube and frnt compnts with 4ch amp and rear coax directly frm HU. I was thinking tht would i be getting a GREAT change in the bass frm jbl bass tube with a mono amp or a 4ch would be fine (though i know it wont b as good as if powered with a mono amp) but does jbl bass tube really worth the add cost of mono amp.

or i may get infinity KAPPA120.9W with mono amp, or infinity REF1240SE with mono amp or JBL GT5-1204BP with mono amp. i know dese really worth the mono amp....

and hey how abt the new jbl head unit JBL GT-X555 (has 3 preouts)
