Buddy, your calculations are definitely perfect where you have co-related
tyre sizes and speed of the vehicle.

Upgrades to a higher size of tyres improves the driving dynamics of the vehicle.

But does honda or any other car manufacturer allow such changes to be done in the designed size of the parts/tyres size in respect to the warranty of the vehicle in part or total? I would definitely like to know about this issue.

As apart from tyres the lower variants of jazz have single horn and company wiring including cutouts and fuses for the same is done for single horn.So adding a dual horn needs totaly new wiring. If any fault does occur in any other electrical side(though it may not be due to the new upgraded wiring for dual horn) then the company would wash its hands in warranty.Honda dealership very categorically denied to upgrade from single horn to dual horn in the companys workshop and after market addons would then raise questions.

175/65 R15
Rolling Radius = 304.25mm
Circumference = 1911.66mm
Diameter = 608.5mm

195/60 R15
Rolling Radius = 307.5mm
Circumference = 1932.08mm
Diameter = 615mm

Differences between two Tyres
Rolling Radius = 3.25mm
Circumference = 20.42mm
Diameter = 6.5mm

When your speedo reads 100km/hr you're actually at 101.06 km/hr

You can see the difference in diameter but its when the tyre not fitted to vehicle.

When tyre is fitted to vehicle, things like vehicle weight, additional load, tyre air pressure shortens the difference. Its not much either to be concerned.

By tyre upsizing you will experience better ride comfort and decent grip.

I have read my car warranty and extended warranty T&C booklets several times but there is no mention about warranty being void upon wheels and/or tyres being changed. However, making alterations to wires, engine parts, internal parts and etc do make warranty void.

Think about these: Does warranty void if we install seat covers, mudflaps, bumper guards and etc? No isn't it? Same goes for tyres and wheels.

Incase if wheels (i.e alloys) break while vehicle is moving and that causes other things to damage then you cannot claim warranty for broken parts.

Another example, the car has come with factory fitted wheels and tyres, you drive it for 30k kms within 2 years when the car warranty is still active but those Tyres wear off. You buy new set of tyres but does that mean warranty goes void? Nope!

You can ask the same to the dealer where you buy the car, to be more informative.

As of horn, yes you'll have to live with single horn until warranty expires.

Thanks for your reply CRACING.....
I totally agree with you about changing the tyres once they are worn out and it doesnot effect the warranty.

I too changed factory fitted JK tyres in my amaze to same size michelin immediately after delivery in exchange just paying the difference. After that I felt slight wobble on my steering after making L/R turns and coming back to the centre.

I complained this to Emrald Honda dealership in ahmedabad on my first sevice.
They were not able to clear the problem even after allignment and wheel balancing. On repeated complaints they were not ready to take my issue as I had changed the tyres provided by the company on delivery although the new michelins were of the same size and profile that honda provides in Amaze. I took the matter to honda via email but they too took more than a month to revert back and I had to live with the problem till I sold the car within eight months of delivery.

(Apart from the tyre topic I would like to share serious quality issues from Honda. The weld spot joints (in the front part of driver side chassis where front suspension is fitted ) were broken after mere 2000 kms of running on flat city roads in six months.This created a squeaking sound on regular intervals on driving.On complain the dealership kept my car 14 days and ultimately opened the engine compartment totally, made large weld spots all around in the engine compartment and sprayed colour over them and refitted the engine.It looked as if it was an accident job done. This led me to sell the car within eight months of delivery)The inner emrald honda body shop guys told that they had many complains they were facing with similar issues of weld spot joints openning and making sounds, especially in Amaze.

Thanks to cost cutting by honda.........

Looks like some customers received Jazz deliveries - saw an orange and white on the roads (couldn't catch the variant as I was driving). Did anyone on TAI receive theirs yet?

Good show by Jazz in first month of sale. loss of city numbers can be attributed to some costumers finding it more value for money esp with same diesel 1.5 heart. all in all a smart option to look forward

I only wish Honda to equip JAZZ with R15 /195 section wheel rather than 175 mm wheel. I do believe this one single change would have increased the desirability of JAZZ to quite an extent as JAZZ as a car is very handsome and bold looking.

It is like a well built and shaped bodybuilder without properly developed legs. [frustration]

However, one can put the wider shoes on Jazz from Tyre shops.[clap]

I have installed dual horn in my nano without cutting any wires. Its done with the help of couplers.
You mean Wire-Tap connectors aka vampire connectors right? Check this out. Authorized service center will know this anyhow and reject warranty claims.

Splitting a single horn to dual horn is bad idea in terms of current provided to that single horn. Because the horn circuit is limited in supplying current (since its for only one O.E horn) and if we put another horn, the wires get heated and causes fire.

The correct way is to use a relay which requires power directly from battery. Just like what its done to install high wattage headlight bulbs. However, this voids warranty.

My Carnelian Red Pearl VX MT is not yet delivered. I am waiting for accessories - bumper corner protector and Side protector (which are now available) and information on tyre upgrade. Honda has not yet given confirmation on upsizing of tyres from the showroom itself, as they do for City.

Cracing,

Your observation is on spot. Yes the same was explained to me by Landmark Honda technical staff.

For a dual horn instead of a single horn, one needs to take the power supply directly from the battery +ve terminal and the core of the wire should be right to carry the amps. with new cutouts needed for both the horns.(As company single horn circuit wire core and cutouts are designed as per the company provided horn.)

So one needs to either cut or use tap connectors at the end to use the horn button on the steering wheel. If not provide another push switch some where else which would be ridiculous.

Sorry If it's a dumb question. But it seems Jazz's bonnet area is smaller than any hatchback in the segment. That might be one of the reasons how they managed so much space inside of Jazz.

My question is, since Jazz's bonnet area is so small than other hatchbacks, will it have more chance of danger to its driver and co-passenger if it has collision on the front side of the car?

Since this is an international configuration and has scored well in Crash test internationally, you should not be concerned of the small bonnet in the Jazz.

New Honda Jazz,Any known issues?

Hi,

Tomorrow i am going to the MASS to get some niggling issues on my Swift fixed. Overall i am not too happy with the Swift and am thinking of moving to another brand. So far thr Jazz has caught my eye. If i do go for that car, i want to know, what are the known problems with that car?
