I'm travelling on this route again. How's the condition now considering the monsoons?

Condition of the route is good, the highway construction between Muzaffarnagar and Roorkee is on full swing and I'd recommend you to take the route only if you are passing Muzaffanagar before 8 am, else the traffic will build up causing inconvenience.

Hence the route suggestion from my side is same again:
New Delhi - Meerut - Muzaffarnagar - Deoband - Jhabrera(if you are aware of that route) else Manglaur - Saharanpaur(take the canal from Manglaur, it remains empty and going to Roorkee makes no sense).

If making an early morning travel, then take the route straight from Meerut Muzaffarnagar - Manglaur - Saharanpur.

BTW, I guess the route between Deoband and Saharanpur was also under construction, let me get its current status and return back to you.

@Vibhor:
I just came to know of that some sort of communal riots have started in Saharanpur a couple of hours back. Hence I recommend you to first of all get the right status and then visit the place and avoid going there during early or late hours for a couple of weeks the areas surrounding Saharanpur are actually not very safe.

Thanks, Vipul. I'm actually stuck at Saharanpur. The curfew has been imposed but the cops suggest it's safe to go back. What route + time do you recommend?

[lol] you made my day Vibhor.

I'd first of all recommend you to stay there until it's sure that everything is okay.
Secondly go for the busiest route(Saharanpur - Roorkee) any time in afternoon, I guess today they will release the curfew for 4 hours during day time. That time you can take but try to pass any time which is not near to 12 pm(No offense to anyone or any religion but for your personal safety) I'd suggest leaving Saharanpur any time between 1-3 pm. But, not in early or late hours at least, it's nothing but senseless.

Hi 350Z,
Take care and come out when the Curfew is lifted and not during the Curfew time.
When you said cops told it is safe to leave,did they mean during curfew time itself?

I have reached in Delhi safe and sound about a couple of hours ago after starting at 7 AM. I left for Saharanpur in the morning of 26th and was informed about the terrible situation by locals while asking for directions at Deoband (BTW Paper mill road between Deoband and Saharanpur has been fully constructed). Luckily DM's convoy was in the same area and escorted till the destination. This morning as well, cops fully cooperated. Because of local official support, I managed to travel without a fuss but if someone else is stuck in a situation similar to mine, I do not recommended to travel at this point of time unless there's an adequate support. U.P was infamous for its poor law and order but this time I'm pleasantly surprised to see the cops doing their level best to maintain the discipline. The curfew is in effect in all the areas surrounding Saharanpur but life is normal in the nearby locations (Roorkee / Muzaffarnagar etc) although there's tight security check on borders.

Sorry for bumping this thread. Can anyone tell me about road conditions between Muzaffarnagar - Deoband-Saharanpur?
Although it's long since I travelled on that road last time, but it was ina good shape then and I am expecting it to be in same shape. Else you can take Muzaffarnagar - Purkazi - Jhabrera - Puhana - Chhutmalpur - Saharanpur route.

I've travelled a couple of times through the Muzzafarnagar – Deoband – Saharanpur route of late. There's road construction job going on and therefore I'd strongly recommend avoid taking this route. You can rather travel via Saharanpur – Jhabrera road from Purquazi.
