Any offers on Skoda Rapid?Thinking to book one as we had sold off our Vento.AFAIK,Skoda has an offer called 'Buy now,Pay in 2018' offer which got extended to this month.

This is my first post in this forum[:D]
This week I took delivery of a Vento TSI Comfortline. I got total discount of 50k on Bangalore ex-showroom which brought down the price below 10 Lakhs and I thereby saved another 43k on road tax and 10k on the TCS. The dealer also gave a discount of around 10k on the zero depreciation insurance and also included the basic accessories (floor mats and mud-flaps) for free. This was from the Volkswagen showroom at Mysore Road, Bangalore.

Discounts vary across locations and dealers. Best way for you is first Google all Tata showrooms in your city. Call them up and ask for discounts on Zest. Surely some will give. But there is a reason why discounts are there. Dealers would sell you 2016 models so they give discounts in January. And this is true for all car companies.

Thanks! I understand your point. Is there anything wrong in getting a 2016 make car if they offer good discount? If not then what should I keep in mind while negotiating? Please advise.

I did call two dealers in my city. One offered me 25k cash discount and another 25k exchange bonus - their December offer.Though I'll get a 2016 car. How far back of 2016 should be acceptable? I told them not earlier than November.

Only thing is that resale will take some hit as the car manufactured date matters and not the registration date unless the buyer is unaware ofcourse. But then if you intend to keep the car long it doesn't matter much. Also if you're getting good discounts then again the negative is offset.

I believe 25k is a good discount you're getting. Its a good deal. Since Tata is increasing prices from Jan beginning ask for December price although it might not work probably. Don't take older than Nov manufactured car. And yes there's nothing wrong in taking 2016 car. PS- I booked Tiago in Nov beginning and got in Dec beginning without any discounts.

There is no discount on Tiago still. Though the SM assured me that there will be some as they must clear 2016 stock before bringing in newer stocks. According to her, Tiago sales is great and I have personally felt that other manufacturers are feeling the heat already (including Maruti) and they are simply saying that their cars can't be compared with Tiago. [;)]

Is there any other point that I should keep in mind while negotiating with the dealer about a 2016 manufactured car?

Tiago is already quite VFM so can't expect much discount. I think price wise 25k is a good deal. Only thing you ask that you want to do pdi and check the car before invoicing (paying full money).

Seems I am the only person to get some freebies (to be precise 6,000 INR OEM accessories) when I bought Tiago back in September, it was August manufactured though.

Good for you! In my city dealers are apologetic and clarified that due to unexpected volume, they are not offering any discount on Tiago. Good for them but bad for us.
In kolkata, Tata is offering 40K discount on Zest + additional 5K corporate discount. Let's see what happens.

VW is offering a Polo GT TDI 2015 version at the discount of Rs.80,000-Rs.1,00,000.Tempted to go for this but decision will be in the hands of my dad.

And,VW is offering Rs.80,000 discount on Vento TDI 2016 version.
