why maruti why..? , When you will give ABS and Airbags as optional in mid variants
In the present face-lift, Swift Vdi got ABS and EBD and Vxi just has airbags which is something that I simply fail to understand. Why are buyers forced to pay extra for safety features? Is safety the only earning criteria left for car manufacturers in India? Why should a buyer pay a premium for it?

In my opinion this is good move, you are getting ABS, Music system, Auto foldable ORVM and 10% increase in FE in just 12-13 K rupees more than old Swift VDi

Pankaj
Sorry Pankaj to correct you but most of these feature are coming in top end models and that too with a price difference of 21k for petrol and 24k for diesel. ABS and Music system was already there in top models. Now you are getting Push button start and auto foldable ORVM for extra bucks.

Is there any news whether facelift of Maruti Ertiga is planned in the near future. I have almost finalized Ertiga as my next car, but won't mind to wait couple of months if facelift is on the card :-)

I saw a news about Ertiga concept model showcased in the Auto Expo Feb 2014. But not sure when Maruti will actually launch it?

A 1.5 L engine is under testing by Maruti Suzuki which shall make its way in the Ertiga. But that shall happen sometime in next year. The face-lift of Ertiga is not planned yet as I know.

Buddies, Since I reviewed the Face-lifted Maruti Swift Vxi, I felt that it was incomplete as the vehicle had absence of some major upgrades done to the face-lifted Swift this time around. Therefore, Visited my uncle and requested him to show me the Zxi variant which is fully loaded.

So, here is short insight into the face-lifted 2015 Swift Zxi.

The Zxi has the following additions in comparison to Vxi.

1) Keyless, Sensor based door entry

2) Dual front Airbags

3) Push Button start.

4) Steering mounted audio controls

5) Alloy Rims

6) Reverse Sensors

7) Innovative place for Tweeters.

8) Electrical ORVMS

This short review was much needed as to pacify the varied queries that our forum members and viewers may have regarding the vehicle.

Hope you all like it!

Another thing that could have been done would be the 1.5 L petrol engine instead of 1.2 L. But I am sure as they are testing the 1.5 L engine so in times to come we might get something in Swift too.

Overall, Its ok nothing exemplary!

I think the small car excise benefits are applicable for petrol engines under 1200 cc (upto 1199 cc) and diesel engines below 1500 cc (upto 1499 cc), though I could be wrong.

The Indian Swift has performed very well in the NCAP test conducted a few months before, although the ratings haven't been released.
Now Maruti Swift & Datsun Go Fail NCAP Crash Tests - News

Datsun GO, Maruti Swift join list of Global NCAP failures | Team-BHP

Here you go [:)]

The Airbag equipped variant scores 3 stars by Global NCAP. Thanking God. I thought it would score 2, glad it scored 3. But that is not about it, most sold models are the Vs and the higher price than the outgoing Swift will further make matters worse.

Unless safety norms are made mandatory we will see such ratings. It is not that the manufacturers are not capable of giving safer cars. The similar Swift is 5 star rated in Europe, but ofcourse comes at a price!

Datsun Go is another story, they have to go back to the board for a safe car - structural rigidity is a concern currently!
