Pardon me for coming late into this thread.
Low and High beams can be used at same time by using a Small trick. You have to install a diode from High beam wire to the Low beam. In that case, the diode will keep your Low beams LIT even when you switch to high beam. You don't have to hold the stick or anything.
I have done on my jeep and illumination is fantastic. No damage to reflectors. Use ONLY 55/60W bulbs.
