This piece of news only came as a big surprise for me. While most of us are busy cheering up for the upcoming first ever F-1 race in India at Buddh International Track (Greater Noida), the ones from bottom part of the country have something to rejoice as well. The promoters are on a lookout to set up the next F-1 race track in Goa, which will be based on the lines of Monaco GP. Read more..(ESPN)

Very happy about this. now we are hot in motorsports with many events, contests, races. young talent will not remain hidden in india now..

All the TAI members down south can drive all the way to Goa and have a nice time there!

excellent news! it will become good for mumbaikars. now india will have race track in main cities for petrol heads!! one in chennai, one in delhi and one in goa near mumbai! [clap]

Great news dude, they will set up somewhere near coast. This will benefit both goa govt. and crazy petrolheads!!

Good News !!

An welcoming move. But price could of tickets could have been from 2K for 1st event to develop the motorsport in India.

I think 5K is too costly to start for.

Ah! Great news for Motor sports in India. I wish the plans sees the day and not get marred by selfish interests. Goa is not far off from here, will be ready to check it out as soon as it comes up!
And the point that it will be based like Monaco, racing on the streets will be super fun [:)]

For those who thought that this news was just another rumour. Well think again. Maharashtra State Road Development has appointed a consortium headed by Capita Symonds which will finalize the suitable location as well as analyze the need for infrastructure development around it.
"Our appointment reflects the consortium's growing strength in masterplanning, transportation and design of some of the world's leading motor racing circuits and regeneration projects," Muscroft said. "The consortium understands how large sporting projects can be 'Urban Generators' that enhance and encourage development. We will lead the way with sports master-planning and sports community generation, and appreciate how considered designs can create significant value to neighbouring areas and communities. "We are committed to delivering the next generation of racing circuits, with great racing, over-taking, world class facilities and architecture; but above all the intention is to create a sustainable venue that will not need continuous financial support, and will facilitate investment and re-generation."
