yes, the ecu will accordingly accelerate to prevent the engine from stalling. The gear indicator depends on speed as well as how much acceleration is needed if not much then it wont show the shift
Thanks Nick. The gear shift indicator does not displays at all and the car runs at a constant speed. It's funny, you just sit back and relax with both foot off the gas and clutch pedal.

Also, i noticed, the reverse camera flickers couple of times just at the beginning when i reverse. It happens sometime, not always.

Re: Hyundai Fluidic Verna VTVT SX (O) 2 Years and 30,000 Kms

Queries:
Last day when I was driving, the rear windscreen fogged outside due to constant AC on, I clicked rear defogger and after some time the fog is gone and the window is clear. 2nd time when I turned it on I forget to turn it off and around after 15minutes I noticed it was still running (the activated orange light was still on).

My question is:
1) The rear defogger isn’t turn off by itself/auto off after a certain time like 5mins 10 mins? Or I will always have to turn it off manually.

2) anytime if I forget to turn it off and it keep running for 30 mins or more than that, then will it harm the rear window glass as it works by warming the glass.

Next thing is: as the rear one worked fine I activated the front defogger to check how it works, as there have no strip at front windscreen to make it hot, there was no fog on the front windscreen inside outside though. I was just testing and activate the front defogger. Immediately it started to change all the airflow towards the foot area. After sometime I turned it off. But after I turned it off fog started to build on the front windscreen outside, it was so intense it didn’t go away by the airflow outside. I wait for a while then I had to run the wiper but it continues, later I had to stop the car and clean the windscreen by rag.

Why this happened? The front defogger is for clearing inside fog buildup or outside?

That's Strange
The rear defogger automatically cuts off after 10 min of operation. Don't know whether this feature was taken silently for the new models for cost cutting .

Rear glass will have a heating element running on length of the glass. This is element gets activated when you switch on the defogger. If a car specs says rear defogger then there has to be this heating element. By running defogger for a longer time there will be no problem for the glass as the melting point of glass is way too high [:)]. But the problem that you will face is the heating element can get damaged due to overheating/sustained heating.

Front and Rear defogger working principle is totally different though they serve the same purpose. As I said rear defogger works on heating principle, front works on differential temperature technique. This differential temperature is maintained by the AC unit.
On windshield fog can happen outside as well as inside depending on the temperature difference inside and outside.

Thanks for your test and feedback. I will check that again. I remember it was turned on for long around 10 minutes or more.

Thanks Sudee for your feedback. I didn’t mean melting the glass by overheating, glasses gets cracks and weaker if heated or overheated and that require very less heat, it depends on the glass strength.

I’ve another silly question, as these car dont have rear wiper then during little rain can I use that defogger to clear out water:biggrin:? Not heavy rain of course, just rain water drops left over.

It isn’t unusual, they can do it of course. I don’t have the manual yes, so cant check all these details.

rear defogger is not for cleaning water. It just cut out after 8 minutes or so try it again if the same thing repeats i suggest you getting it checked. Basically say you drive with the ac of on a rainy day fog forms on the inner part of the glass the cold air will get rid of it faster as it has less humidity in it, that's what the front defogger is for, however if its a humid day and you keep the front defogger on the portion of the glass will get cold and form condensation on the outside just like a nice glass of lemonade:lol!:

Ahhhh! Now I got the purpose of the front defogger. In a humid day if I turn it on, I will get a glass of lemonade :lol!:.

I have not heard of any cracked glass due to sustained heating, but I have heard and seen the heating element peeled off the glass due to continuous heating. Something similar to heating element cut while peeling off the sunfilm.

Nick kindly help me out with my problem. My steering is so tight and I couldn't find any reason for it. I gave my car for the first service and told them about this sadly after a week the steering became hard [frustration]. Kindly throw some light on tyre pressure too .
