My hunt for a new cell phone purchase has begun and with so many gadget freaks out here, I cannot think of a better place to ask this than our forum itself. My budget is strictly limited to Rs.8,000 – Rs.10,000. The requirements includes voice clarity, decent camera and occasional internet surfing. I’m not too familiar with this market and still searching around. Not in a hurry either. Let the suggestions start flowing!

Re: Hunt For a New Cell Phone Begins!

Do you want a touchscreen or a qwerty?

And as for a touchscreen, what is the bare minimum screen size you want?

Re: Hunt For a New Cell Phone Begins!

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 is worth checking out. It comes with the Android 1.6 but can be upgraded to the 2.1 version.

The Android OS should take care of most of your needs and the camera on the Sony Ericsson phones are pretty decent ones.

Keep us posted [thinking]

Re: Hunt For a New Cell Phone Begins!

I did check Equinox but I'm thinking to avoid flap and touch-screen type phones. Haven't researched much though. How's entry level BlackBerry?
