Yes i just want to read data. I am somehow not comfortable to fiddle with the ECU settings. I will place an order once my credit card gets working!

Any idea where the OBD port is in TATA? I think in Safari it was under the glove box right?

I might just try this in my Aria too!

Some cool results mastersquall
Did you put the for some real use. I mean has it affected ur Driving style.

Just ordered one. Have taken a risk with it as nobody can confirm whether it works for the old swift or not.
Sorry mate but I think it does not work for Old Petrol Swift. I think it works with K-Series Petrol Swift. If it works on your Old Swift then it will be a news for me.

Other Updates.
I had also ordered OBD reader from TomTop but the device turned out to be defective. Had to send it back to China for a refund. TomTop was kind enough to refund my money.
Meanwhile I had ordered it from DealExtreme this time. Device has reached and I have tested it with my Petrol Ritz, its working this time. I have few results taken but Since I have a big exam tomorrow will post the result tomorrow, that is if I clear the Exam [;)].

See you guys.

So i received the ELM327 scanner today. Big help that is as the Car has been through a major accident and is sitting at the workshop, waiting for the insurance survey.

Anyways, if anybody in Mumbai near the Powai area wants to get their cars scanned, you can PM me and we can meet up.

@mastersquall: Sorry for replying in old thread. I'm also thinking of purchasing this obd reader and i want to know a few things about it.

1. How is it working after 2-3 months of usage. (any problems)
2. Do you use it all the time plugged in your car or you use it rarely just to scan some problems. I mean is it OK if you leave it plugged in all the time? Does it ever gets hot.
3. Is the Symbian software is also provided on the cd or it only has the PC software.

I am willing to use it all time for the improvement in my driving style and increase FE. Is it suitable for me. I have i10 1.2 magna. The 2011 next gen model.

I'll purchase it only after your reply.

1. still working as usual though I don't use it regular
2. no I don't use it regularly but ya when I want to know torque it is producing or load on engine etc then I use it. I have used it for non-stop for 10hrs it didn't got heat up at all . it's OK to leave it plugin but remember it will consume small amount of electricity but if you drive regularly then no problem but be careful obd port is near acc pedal. you don't want it to break
3. tell you truth I never looked inside CD at all . will see inside let you know

yup it work perfectly with. Hyundai cars. using observed only I came to know which gear is putting more load so in the end I learned how put which at which to reduce load and getting better FE

any question remaining? I will be happy to answer

Thanks for your reply. I'm going to order it today and hope it comes in 15-20 days as the say on the website. The only problem is that i dont have a credit card, i'll try if my icici debit card works or i have to ask my friends to use their credit card.

And i got 10% discount coupon from this website and it works. So if somebody wants to buy from them he/she can also try for discount coupon.

Mastersquall, Please check the CD and tell me about the software and how many sensors does it show in i10.

Sorry. I haven’t tested OBD in Maruti 800.

PS: We should continue any topic relevant discussions in the forum itself rather than mails. Thanks.
