Car Registration Transfer and Related Issues

I sold my car 3 years back and the buyer assured me that he would sign and send the “Delivery Receipt”. I never filled Form 29 and since then, the car stands in my name.

Since then, I have been after the buyer to get the transfer done. To make matters worse, he says that the car papers are lost.

I am moving overseas and need to solve this issue. What are my options? Can some sort of an affidavit be signed by me and the car buyer that restricts my liability towards the car?

buddy imho transfer should have been done 3yrs before only when you sold car! are you going abroad permanently? i will say chase him and get transfer asap!
