I guess there is some leakage in your braking system, mostly the leakage will be in the cylinders in rear drum..check them out it ll solve the problem.
And for more power you can istall the booster brakes(vaccume brakes).
If you need details I can share with you..
Brakes of my maruti 800 ,1996 model are were poor now and take time for stopping the car. Also i fill break oil every month but at end of month it is finished and i get warning light .

do you find any oil, on the ground when parked the car over night????
vaccum brakes for m800??? i dont think it would be a good idea for 800

Fixing the vacuum brake makes it like a modern day car. also a easy job in 800.
SELECT a empty road.
drive around 30+ like in 40 or 50kmph,
leave the hands from steering and brake.
does it pull?
if yes , sure sign of leaking in brake cylinder!
hmmm else it just takes 20 min to open up rear brake drum. mech must help!

Hi, It costs me 5k for the whole assembly and fitting, these brakes are already fitted in all new cars. Even Omni and nano(cx\lx) has it now.

Brake Problem
I have a maruti car800,model 2002,MPFI engine. The problem is that the brake is not working,every thing has been checked and is ok but is not not working,the brakes need to be pumped for 7-8 times to stop the car. So how does it happen like that?

Seems like you need to get the master and slave cylinders serviced/replaced. Ask your mechanic to check them out.

Also if possible try to get the booster installed (can make a huge difference). total cost of Brake booster install, along with a few parts change in drum will come to about 5000/- (max, including labour)

I heard, when you turn off the ignition switch the brakes are no longer working. Is it true?

Yes it would work for 2-3 times (till the vacuum exists in the booster) then the pedal would get hard and the brake wont work as it should.
