December 2023 - Update

Jixie lent his bike temporarily during my rebuild. That time I noticed his rear brake feel was harder and on checking there was a return spring, which was missing in mine. Is it lost or did I forget to install it back, I can't recall.
Well I think i know why my rear brake pedal felt so loose at these time and I thought i was spoiled by the rear disc brake of R15

AMCO surpassed its expiry date and started showing signs of death. Just trying to rejuvenate.

UPDATE

Finally found right length (80 cm) for just Rs 250 in Karol Bagh. Went there to grab a fork rod T and oil seal driver. On the way back, I saw a superbike mod shop and thought, let’s ask one last time. And the guy straightaway told me not to ask anyone else and pointed me to an unnamed shop in a narrow busy street. To my surprise, that little shop had all kinds of hoses.
Most of the hoses they had were DOT certified, but I’m not sure if that’s the real deal or just for the name.

Are these better than the stock ones? There’s hardly any initial bite with the stock setup, it’s like pressing into air. I’m planning to get a rear disc brake setup, but haven’t found a skilled lathe workshop yet.

Ah, I see. Performance but at the cost of durability. Btw, where did you get all the OEM spare parts from? I’ve been having a hard time finding reliable sources.
The Yamaha dealer here provides great support. Almost all parts are available in ready stock, and we can order what not with an ETA of a week or two. Moreover, many shops are selling genuine parts here, with one shop exclusively for Yamaha parts. For the worst case, I can reach out to the parts distributor in Kochi, who is an enthusiastic guy.

You're very lucky bro. I had one dealer who used to get parts in 2–3 days, but now it’s been almost 2 months with no update. I’m trying to get the R15 V3 slipper clutch assembly, but no one has it in stock and they can’t even backorder it. Getting smaller parts is becoming really hard to source lately.

I'll DM the distributors number. Inquire with him. He ships too.
