Auto Expo is the India’s largest and most celebrated biennial automobile exhibition. It is split into two events: The Motor Show and The Components Show. The 16th edition was originally scheduled to happen in February 2022 but was ultimately postponed due to pandemic. It will now be held at every odd year in alignment with International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers' Global Auto Show calendar.

Auto Expo Motor Show 2023: Timings & Ticket Price

The Auto Expo (Vehicles) will be held from 13th - 18th January 2023 at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Tickets can be purchased online through this link.



Auto Expo Components Show 2023: Timings & Ticket Price

The Auto Expo (Components) will be held from 12th - 15th January 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The visitors can register online through this link.

Long list of absentees from the event is surely a disappointment for many, who had high hopes to see the best from them at Auto Expo 2023. While actual reasons for the absence of these brands are still unclear, it's reported that the high investment, stall setup costs and lesser footfall are the possible reasons why several companies are not participating this time.

Just like Auto Expo 2020, this edition too is expected to have a limited number of brands showcasing their products. Some of them include: BYD, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Maruti Suzuki, MG Motor, Tata Motors, Toyota and Volvo.

Top 10 car launches expected at 2023 Auto Expo in India

The Indian car market is ready to see a host of launches in the next year. The 2023 Auto Expo, which is scheduled to happen between January 13 to January 18, will be the playground for car manufacturers. It will be the launching pad for various upcoming SUVs and sedans. However, various brands have announced plans to stay absent at the gig, namely including Mahindra, Skoda, Volkswagen, BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Jeep, Citroen, Honda, Nissan, Volvo, and Renault.

MG 4 electric hatchback to be showcased at Auto Expo 2023

Many carmakers have shied away from the upcoming Auto Expo 2023, but MG Motor will have an assorted set of cars on display. We have already reported that the MG Air City EV will make its India debut at Auto Expo, and the Hector facelift will also be on display. Auto Expo 2023: 30 pure EV players to showcase product portfolios

As many as 30 pure electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers spanning two-, three- and four-wheeler segments will showcase their product portfolios at the 16th edition of the Auto Expo — The Motor Show, according to a top official of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Okinawa Autotech, Greaves Cotton, Hero Eco Tech, Tork Motors, WardWizard Innovations and Matter Motorworks are among the 24 pure EV players showcasing their products in the two- and three-wheeler segments, said SIAM’s Director General Rajesh Menon.

Similarly, other players from the two- and three-wheeler segments like Devot Motors, Sledgehammer Works, Motovolt Mobility, Fujiyama Power Infra, Ultraviolette Automotive, LML Emotions, Quantum Energy and Blive will be participating at the show.

Maruti Suzuki will debut two SUV models, one Concept at Auto Expo 2023

Maruti Suzuki India will have not one but two new SUV models launching at the upcoming Auto Expo in January 2023. The company’s Managing Director, Hisashi Takeuchi has said that in the past Maruti Suzuki has lost share due to gaps in its product portfolio. These gaps were mainly in the SUV segments, While the new generation Brezza and the all new Grand Vitara have plugged some of them, there are more opportunities that Maruti is eyeing keenly. Speaking on questions raised about Maruti’s eroded market share off-late, Mr. Takeuchi said, “A hole in our portfolio that has to be filled. The new Brezza and Grand Vitara are answers to these questions. But we have more coming to India. With the two new SUV models during the motor show, we are strengthening the portfolio.”

Hyundai Ioniq 6 to be showcased at Auto Expo 2023

Hyundai will have a major presence at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023 that starts on January 11 at New Delhi. The carmaker will have a slew of existing and new model showcases along with some concept cars. New Lexus RX to make India debut at 2023 Auto Expo

Lexus India is all set to introduce the new Lexus RX with fresh and unique design elements. The new Lexus RX will be showcased at the Delhi Auto Expo 2023 highlighting the design, appearance and new features which will be introduced in two variants.

Tata Punch EV to debut at Auto Expo; launch in festive season 2023

Tata Motors will be showcasing the Punch EV at Auto Expo 2023, likely in a near-production guise. We have also learnt that the all-electric version of the Punch will enter production around June 2023, followed by a market launch around the festive season next year.

• Will be based on adapted version of ALFA platform
• Likely to use Ziptron powertrain like other Tata EVs
• Will be fourth Tata EV, following Tiago, Tigor and Nexon

Jupiter Electric Mobility to showcase Electric commercial vehicles at Auto Expo 2023

Jupiter Wagons Ltd, is set to debut its first commercial electric vehicles under the new Jupiter Electric Mobility brand at the 2023 Auto Expo. The company had announced the creation of the Jupiter Electric Mobility vertical of its business earlier this year along with the formation of a joint venture with electric commercial vehicle manufacturer GreenPower Motor Company.

The EV Star CC offers a payload carrying capacity of up to 4,095 kg and offers a range of up to 250 km per charge depending on the specification.

Kia EV9 Concept teased for Auto Expo 2023 debut

Kia has dropped its first teaser for the upcoming Auto Expo 2023, confirming that it will showcase the EV9 electric concept SUV. Kia had first showcased the EV9 electric concept at the 2021 Los Angeles Motor Show and it is only expected to hit production globally by the end of 2023.

The electric SUV will be positioned as Kia’s flagship model in its EV range and will also spawn a cousin in the Hyundai Seven Concept.
