Any Good Garages in Delhi for Learning?

hey
anyone has any info abt a garage in delhi/ncr which could provide really good training for car repair and engine improvements or any place that is good enough to stay and learn???

Firstly, A warm welcome to you in The Automotive India. I'm living in delhi but unfortunately don't have much idea regarding this but I suggest you to check out the Palika Bhavan Opp. Hayatt Hotel, Its actually a car repairing & accessory market, I've seen few shops restoring old vintages and preparing Gypsys for Desert Storm etc, May be you can find some help there.

Hey Vipul, Weclome to TAI.

Well i am not from Delhi but thought like sharing my experience.

Looks like you want to join a garage to improve your knowledge & good that you have choosed a garage instead over a service center.

But which ever you garage you choose make sure that there are some of the latest cars coming in there.

I had worked in a TATA service center & the only thing i did was regular servicing like oil change,etc i.e.They have time limits to give back the cars & hence they don't spend time telling us things.

I had worked in a garage too where the scene was completely different.It used to be filled with jeep's,800's,scooters and what not.(Its not that useful as the latest cars are way advanced & handled differently)

Finally in the 3rd attempt i went to a Authorized Maruti service center.Being a small & only service center in that area it had the most no of different cars ranging from 800's to civic's to safaris.

So just make sure the garage you join has a similar type of scene.You get to learn the most through them.

Yeah I have seen the palika bhavan garages, I will go there and enquire about it
I just know people of delhi very well and going there without any refence might rasie suspicion, but i'll surely try, Any other info is all welcome

@vipulwadhwa, how about doing the course which the mechanics at Authorised service centres do? I think it would be for a short period only.

Finally in the 3rd attempt i went to a Authorized Maruti service center.Being a small & only service center in that area it had the most no of different cars ranging from 800's to civic's to safaris.

The owner had a normal garage before.Later he made it a Authorized Maruti Service center.He had some loyal customers

The authorization wasn't directly from Maruti,it was given to him by Wonder Cars(Its a Big Maruti Showroom & service center in pune).And whenever the Maruti official were on rounds or inspection the owner used to get a call from Wonder Cars and all the cars were quickly removed & parked somewhere else.

Yeah, after completing my engineering i was so boared. i went and worked with my mechanic for almost 4 months.

The car that come normally are uno, palio , tata s , mahindra s, qualis , escort , omni, 800, esteem, zen, alto , santro

Garage is the best place to learn things. Its fun to get our hands dirty and gresy.

becuse its been loong enough since i ve been struggling to find a good place...

I don't thing such courses exist.Never heard about it.

@Neil & Vipul, hope we can soon bring your search to an end.We are surveying in different parts of India from people connected to automobile world by any means and checking what all things/courses/services/solutions do they need which are lagging in India.From this thread we came to know about this issue and requirement, hope there are many people in all over India who are in search of this type of courses.We are trying to sort out a group of such required courses for various technical and proffesional jobs in automobile industry which should be provided in India, and increase employability.But this will take time as we are in our initial stages.
