Ok for explanation lets take the last one " 175/R14 70 "
1) The first number "175" is the tiers Width in mm
2) "R" stands for radial construction & 14 is the diameter of the tier.
3) The last number "70" refers to height of sidewalls.Like its 70% of the section width"175".
& the R is always mentioned later. I mean its always in this way "175/70R14.![]()
The complete tyre reading is as - 175/70R14 84T
Here 84 is "Load Index" This is a number corresponds to the maximum load in kilograms that a tyre can support when properly inflated.
And T is "Speed Rating" This is a number that corresponds to the maximum service speed for a tyre. T means - 190KMPH. See chart below -
