Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDi Serene Blue – My Dream “LUV” comes home !!

Hi Architect,

Congratulations on your new Ertiga ZDi Serene blue, even I was delivered with Ertiga ZDi Serene blue on 24th August. I am interested in getting more information on the new DVD audio system that you have replaced with the original. Can you share the following information - Make and Model of the DVD system and what all features does it provide. Price of it and from where you have got it done. Does it require a new panel? for fixing it if yes can you provide me with additional expenses that is required for getting this done.

Finally what did you do with the original Audio system that has come with Ertiga ZDi? I think the original Kenwood one costs around 19K as per the MGA price list.

-Shyam

The First aid kit received along with the car...
I have also purchased professional tire repair kit separately from outside market to just to counter any puncture problem at remote village area during long drives.
I am posting few more pics within few days..as I have understood that you cant post pics along with text in combined format, all pics are uploaded together separately at the end of the post, that's fine.

@ Architech. First of all congrats for your Ertiga and its well written ownership review.
Could you please tell us more about your new music system. How much you paid?

Well Well!! What a detailed ownership report you have written. Many congrats to you architect. As per your name you have really architected your LUV with the host of accessories. Very nice. The way you have explained i thought it is a official review i am reading. You have put up lot of effort in it.
The most i liked your 2 DIN ICE. Just perfectly fit into the original place. At first i wondered does ZDi come with navigation system. I myself searching for 2 DIN ICE system for my LUV Fluidic Verna. Again many congrats to you.

Hi Architect,
Congratulations on a fantastic review written straight from the heart. Somehow I could not see few images. Enjoy the car specially the kind of accessories you have installed.

I booked ZDi Firebrick color on 7th April and I am 2nd in the booking list of the dealer and I am still waiting for it [frustration].

In the meanwhile, I have option of taking White ZDi, Granite Grey VDi or Serene Blue VDi. My loan is approved and HDFC is pushing for disbursement as month end is approaching. Following are my choices in case I have to pick one:

1. White is the option if I want to stick to Z version even though my 6 year old daughter find it 'boring' (yeah, kids today have opinion in big decisions too)
2. If I keep my daughter happy, I would go with Granite Grey VDi compromising some features [lol]
3. Serene Blue could come in consideration only if it was a Z version.

Dear Ertiga lovers, Please suggest which option should I go with???[confused]

go with white ZDI or wait until you get your red ZDI..... do not go for VDI

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDi Serene Blue – Review of my Dream “LUV” !!

Thanks moderators for refining my review
Thanks to shyamb, minubasil, sandy_fluidic, DrRG, visran & pars21 for the encouragement.

Now about the multimedia music system it costs 58000 at the dealership. My advise is to negotiate or ask them to retain original speakers for some discounts. The original speakers are excellent IMHO. This system may be available aftermarket but need to check availability. Its motevo make, but being Maruti OE accessory for new swift only, may be not advertised for Ertiga, also its in jet black colour, but fits perfectly in place without any panel as if made for Ertiga.
The best things I liked are-
1. You can listen to music while getting directions from Mapmyindia Navigation System V-7.0 and attend to phone calls via bluetooth at the same time.
2. You can listen to music from your phone via A2DP.
3. You can stream multimedia content to view on 7 inch HD LCD display.
4. Lovely touch interface for Navigation only, others is OK types.
5. Most importantly all steering remote buttons work seamlessly!!
6. Rear cam function works perfect for tight parking situations.
you can check the following link but the model shown there is for old swift but specifications are same.
Satcom Zone | Motevo - Motevo Maruthi Suzuki Swift Distributors in India, Car Stereo Distributors-Maruthi Suzuki Swift, Motevo Maruthi Suzuki Swift OE Systems Dealers in Tamilnadu, Motevo Maruthi Suzuki Swift Dealers in Coimbatore,Maruthi Suzuki Swif

Surprisingly the original Audio system with remote that had came with my Ertiga ZDi is still with me totally untouched!!

@dpmore
I will certainly try to post few picks of the carpet lamination tomorrow. I think its a must required one if you have kids in your family dropping food, water, liquids, etc. can be fatal.

@DrRG
Go for whatever your heart says, I know its hard to convince a daughter so young, but remember ZDi has so many features which you will not be able to install in VDi at a later stage. I will always recommend ZDi over VDi.
one more thing, tell your daughter that when she will sit on the last row seat, the best available view is form the rear windshield. Kids will not enjoy if the rear windshield is dirty. My experience is the rear windshield also gets dusty & dirty same as the whole car during long drives. When we were on the way to shirdi and shani shinganapur, there was a constant request from the rear bench to wipe & clean the rear windshield for the better visibility.
Only ZDi has rear windshield wipers & surprisingly one can't install the same in the VDi, that's a real miss from Maruti Suzuki Engineers!!

One question to all, I have "Fuel log" android application installed on my Samsung Galaxy S II, how to confirm the average?

Architect is it 58,000 rs for that 2 din system I know it has so many great features but don't you think the price is a bit high ?

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ertiga ZDi Serene Blue – Review of My Dream “LUV” !!

@Raja
Yes it is very high but it includes change of all speakers as well which I suggest not to go for as the in built ones are equally good thereby one can negotiate.

I just found a link today of this Multimedia Navigation system-
Car Audio System For Suzuki Swift - Buy Car Audio For Suzuki Swift,Car Dvd Player For Suzuki Swift,Car Gps Navigation For Suzuki Swift Product on Alibaba.com

Also the Interface is very much similar to that shown at Mapmyindia website-
MapmyIndia IN-Dash AVN : With India's best maps and driving directions | Turn-by-turn directions | Travel across India

BTW If anybody is interested I have one spare original ZDi music system with me...

Thank you Architect! I will surely go for ZDi now irrespective of color. My dealer says he is getting a ZDi in couple of days that is going to be mine. I am not told the color yet, but I am taking this one whatever color it is going to wear [:)].

Will update once I get the details...

@Architect my small doubt which i felt sorry if it hurts you.
I have seen the innova 2.5 liter engine suffering a power lag when fully loaded which i have noticed in highway.
But what about the ertiga in full load with a 1.3 liter engine.

@ Rajvel
I have not driven Innova so far, so can not comment or compare it with Ertiga but I have driven my Ertiga around 600 odd Kms from Mumbai-Shirdi-Shani Shinganapur-Mumbai with 6 Adults, 2 kids (12 & 4 yrs) including myself and luggage. I have driven Tata Indica DLX & Tata Safari Diesel on longer drives so I can compare them with Ertiga.
I found Ertiga (Fully loaded as specified above) having similar driving characteristics as of Tata Indica DLX; I found Tata Safari more powerful than Ertiga with respect to initial gearing at lower speeds pickup, but at higher speeds I found Ertiga equally powerful.
Ertiga is very economical while driven in the 1500-2000 RPM range, and never felt out of power throughout. As advised by dealership I tried not to cross the speed limits being running in period but I must mention here that it is very difficult to drive Ertiga in speeds less than 80 KmpH as it easily crossed that mark on highways without pressing much on the accelerator pedal.
Now as the 1st service is over, I will definitely test this 1.3 MJD to its limits on Mumbai-Pune expressway next time with full loads!!
And I am sure the results will not hurt anybody!![:)]

Please join Ertiga Club & know each other-

Welcome DrRG, Wish you best luck for your Ertiga to come soon...
