Yes, the xylo- which earlier refused to offer in white fearing the taxi market is now offered in diamond white.

I saw a white xylo few days back & i think its the best colour available in the car. I think mahindra started the white colour after the "choose your colour" contest in the xylo website where white may have been the viewer's preferred choice.
 
Looks good in white color!

But suddenly there in a drop in booking of Xylo.

I think there is some mysterious problem with the car which made the sales down to Figures counted in Fingers.

Which "Mysterious" Problem is it? Can you explain in more detail, Zinam?

After the release of White color, Xylo will now become more popular between Taxi operators, Especially in delhi where most of the taxis are white.

Personally, I like the "Lucky Lilac" color on Xylo.

yes napster, but i think its a bit different on the xylo, though i am not too sure.

vibhor, even i love the lilac colour on the xylo. but xylos still wont be sold as yellow number plates, no news of it yet.
 
I have seen a Xylo with yellow number plate in Hyderabadh. I think they are sold in yellow number plates. The diamond white looks good on the Xylo.
 
yes, for that matter, even i have seen a xylo with a yellow plate but that was not a taxi. yellow number plates does not necessarily mean a taxi. every 7+ seater registered in the name of a company/organisation instead of an individual, bears a yellow number plate. taxis have the 'T' mark over it. but if xylos were sold freely with taxi plates, we wouls have seen much more on roads.
 
those yellow number plates are t/r plates else they are taxis
only t/r plates are in yellow in hyderabad
 
mahindra coming out with white was due to most intrest buyers showed or enquired was about this colour, which finally mahindra is out with, looks very good.I dont think sales has come down for xylo, its just that overall market has slowed down recently and not many new cars are seen around.IMO.
Pillars blackening along with nice tints would make white xylo look damn good.[:D]

white was my choice too. but was not available initially , so went for black. and i can see few number of xylos in taxi stands now. and also quite a few in tourist areas. which shows that it is a good vehicle for long journeys.
 
white seems got demand back for xylo, many white ones are seem on roads and till now have seen only private registered vehicles and no taxi's for this colour.
Saw one parked near my car yesterday, looks good in this shade.
 
According to autocar india Nov 2009 issue-

mahindra is planning to launch a base version of the xylo to cater to the taxi market. the base xylo will come with the mustang engine- essentially the same engine as in the M2Di scorpio, but now turbo charged & featuring common rail injection. the mustang motor is expected to develop around 90 bhp.
