India’s First One-Stop Facility To Trade Pre-owned Trucks

Shriram Transport Finance Company has released a new venture of trading in Pre-owned Trucks and Commercial Vehicles which is India’s first authorized destination of buying and selling used commercial vehicles. This facility is located in Aurangabad and spread across 2 Lakh Square Ft. Apart from trading of trucks; Automall also facilitates the owners to seek financing and insurance options, as well as provides major and minor repair facilities. As an add-on facility, Rest rooms for travel fatigued truck drivers and cleaners are also provided. The company plans to have a PAN India network of 50 such Automall strategically located on important highways of the country. Here’s an excerpt from the official press release:
"The Automall is a one stop which facilitates the buying and selling of used commercial vehicle and will also assist registration of an Individual buyer's requirement. Road transport is the lifeline of India's growing economy. Automall will benefit truckers by promptly replacing their vehicles, leading to modernization of the country's trucking fleet. The facility will house hundreds of pre-owned vehicles both in as-is-where-is and refurbished condition and truckers will be able to trade in a transparent manner. This is the first Automall in Aurangabad and we hope that it brings progress and eases life of the truckers" said Mr.U.G.Revankar, Deputy Managing Director, Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd. on the occasion.

now truckers can also enjoy premium services. [drive] well its amazing initiative but i dont have knowledge in commercial vehicles and not seen anyone buying or selling used trucks. hope its successful!
 
Would love to see the business feasibility report done on this venture. Most trucks are bought to achieve break even, profitability and are then run into the ground. Should be interesting to know how big is the market for sale/purchase of second hand trucks.
