Why there are no rear wash wipe on Sedans?

Yes, De-Mister is helpful for those foggy days when mist covers the whole glass area of vehicle but as you said already in previous post, The rear glass of sedans is slant in comparison to Hatches/SUVs. Hence rain water doesn't stays but there is mist, So the heater/de-mister proves to be useful for those times.

Sure does, on the mirrors, which are pretty much vertical anyway.
Also have heard of some hydrophilic coatings for glass surfaces, which keep the water droplets from beading, and cause them to slide right off.

Yeah and it comes as standard in some up-market cars, A Volvo S80 for example.

I did not know that. Had done some research on the same earlier, and found that you get applications, which last for about a monsoon or so.

@aditya- your fabia must be having rear wash n wipe.

Yes Akash they are really helpful in my Safari. Its difficult reversing the beast while rains without the wipers.But till now not used it for wiping off dust though my Safari has wash and wipe.

Definitely they prove to be useful in hatchbacks and SUVs which have a flat rear. The question here was about sedans.

IMO they arent really required in sedans. Atleast i havent felt the need till date.

Even front windshield is not straight, but slaint and water doesn't accumulate, but water particles will be there and flowing water has to be cleaned.
Similar thing with rear screen, it doesn'r accumulate even in hatchback, but in case of heavy rain you need to run it, same as front windscreen.

I think you need clearer vision out of the front than the rear!!

I dont agree with you on this cause whenever we drive, inline with viewing the front upcomming traffic we also keep a vigil on our rear following traffic whenever we overtake,suddenly brake in emergencies or any other situations. through our right and left ORVMs and also the cabin RVM(mostly among the 3 VMs).For the view through cabin RVM the rear windshield glass has to be clear of water film(rain or other source) and dirt.

But in Sedans the water doesn settle in the rear mirrors unlike SUV'S and hatches , doesn affect visibility much!! So a rear wiper is not needed in Sedans!

Good point. But even during heavy rains the visibility is just ok.

Yes you are right.If we say more precisely then just for sudden braking,overtaking etc for which we dont drive our vehicle backwards, in these situations we just need to see that is there any vehicle or not,but not so exactly(the vehicle size,etc) as we need to see the front while we drive frontwards.We need to see the back so precisely only when we drive backwards or reverse our vehicle.
