Why Same CC Engines Have Different Power Output?

Suzuki A-Star = 1000cc = 66 BHP
Suzuki GSX-1000R = 1000cc = 191 BHP

Same displacement, yet so much difference in the power output?

Why?[confused]

I have always wondered the same thing. Can you put a bike engine in a car?? The only thing is that you won't have a reverse gear.

you are gonna use only the bike engine. the car gear box remains the same[evil]
But the car gear box won't suit the bike engine, or would it? These bike engines produce their max power at something like 12000rpm which means it needs a suitable gear box.

The purpose of creating this thread was to explore the fundamental differences between car and bike engines.

Bike engines are high revving engines, and rev upto 12K or thereabouts.

The car engines redline at about 7K and produce far lesser power.

What would be the repercussions if such high revving engines are used in cars.

And why arent they used?

So in event of these circumstances, I do not think that the new thread title is appropriate, and I hope it can be reverted back to the original.

A motorcycle engine is tuned different from a car engine. The compression ratios are higher and the valve opening times are longer. The injectors are tuned for more fuel intake and the exhaust is, usually, shorter and simpler than a car. So, if a 900cc bike produces 100bhp a similar size car engine will produce 45bhp to 55bhp. Additionally a typical 900cc bike will weigh 220kg but the same car will weigh around 500kg. You see a bike power/weight ratio is 100/220 and the car is 55/450 the big difference also means faster acceleration, bike 0 to 100kph about 3.8secs, the car about 14 secs.
Moreover A car engine is generally expected to work smoothly, require little maintenance, and be absolutely dependable and cost-efficient to make. These characteristics are normally not compatible with the high power delivery of motorcycle engines.
