Hyundai India launched the stupendously awaited small car-Hyundai EON in India on October 13th, 2011. Hyundai actually switched ‘India ON’ when it launched its cute hatch Hyundai EON in Gurgaon at Kingdom of dreams. Hyundai EON is the cheapest car from the Korean car manufacturer with its base variant priced very affordably at Rs 2.69 lakh, while the top end variant costing Rs 3.71 lakh to one’s pocket.

Hello Autoconfig, maybe adding more to the confusion, any specific reason why you have not considered i20? With the budget in hand you can even look into i20 Asta as well. I believe in terms of interior quality, fit & finish, safety and gadgets no other hatchback comes close. Honda Jazz to an extent, but not entirely, especially on the gizmos. To top it all you get Hyundai's A.S.S which adds to peace of mind. The only thing which am little vary about is the petrol engine which breaths for more air if you are a spirited driver. But otherwise this is a car which will keep you happy overall. if you have not test driven one I would recommend you to do so before making a decision.

Hi Carhead,

i20 lot of people complaining about steering rattling, they complained many times but not yet fixed, one of my colleague bought I20 asta 6 months back, he is frustrated about i20, thinking to sell due to steering issue, complained many times to Hyundai no use [frustration], trying to book jazz. So i decided not go with I20.

That's true, even I am fed up with my i10. All i10's and i20's have steering rattle issue. Hyundai does not have a solution for it. Still they are selling faulty cars.

That's a good decision taken by staying away from i20.

Thank you for your suggestion, lot of people complaining about steering rattling issue, not sure why Hyundai not able to fix the issue,god bless Hyundai.

Hyundai procures this rack assembly from a vendor called Mondo. The rack and steering rod has a gap to make the steering ultralight. This causes the rattle on uneven roads. Hyundai accepted this design flaw when I talked to their CEO. I had taken him left and right over this issue. Hyundai will never fix this issue as they will have to replace the cars entirely. Which I think, they won't do that.

As posted on another thread, one guy from Pune has filed a case against hyundai and a friend of mine from Gujrat has also filed a case against hyundai.

Net net, stay away from i10 and i20 at any costs.

Jazz is a good car and recently with their price cut, it makes a good option to go for. Only downsides are ( I wont call it as cons) less powerful engine and low ground clearance. But the positives overshadows these points.

I Only don't understand their "waiting period" theory.

i read many threads waiting period is due to floods in Thailand, god bless Honda.
Is is possibel to increase ground clearance..?

Since jazz is out of your consideration due to waiting period, Skoda Fabia 1.6 may be the best option available.

I for one, would always pick Fabia over Polo due to

1. Better ride & handling
2. Better steering feedback
3. Better interior space.

But Polo is much much more beautiful & desirable. So ultimately its a fight between mind and heart.

Hi,
I would suggest Maruti Swift is a best option.because Maruti is a famous all over the world and it is a unique example of unity in diversify. it has given us a whole new view to the effects of a diesel engine in a small car. The low revving engine needs fewer downshifts in city conditions as there is ample power at low rpm.

After all, I listened my heart and booked Jazz x [:D], i heard Honda started jazz production and price will be delivery time price, there will be slight price changes.

Congratulations on booking Jazz. When are you getting delivery ? How much increase you expect would be in price at the time of delivery ? Dealer must have given you some tentative price band.
