WhatsApp has added three new features with the latest update including group invite blocking and text reminders. The Facebook-owned messaging platform is been adding features constantly, and these new features are a nice addition that will completely change the way you use the app.

Last week Any.do, a popular reminders app, announced that it has partnered with WhatsApp for the new reminder feature. Now with the new reminders tool, users will be able to create and receive alerts inside WhatsApp. Unfortunately, this feature isn’t free. WhatsApp beta update brings new chat settings, 6 new emojis and more

Carrying v2.19.366, the update brings six new emojis. These include a person using white cane, a person using motorized wheelchair, and a person sitting on the wheelchair. All three emojis are available in both the genders. WABetaInfo was the first to report about this.

Chat settings have also been changed. The ‘wallpaper’ option, that was previously under ‘chat settings’ is now being shifted under ‘display’ settings. The dark mode, which is not ready yet, will also reportedly appear under ‘display’ settings. But there is no timeframe as to when the much awaited feature will roll out.

WhatsApp self destruct messages are coming soon and here's the main reason behind it

According to a recent scoop from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is bringing the ability to auto-destruct messages on WhatsApp groups. The recent test versions of WhatsApp have received a new feature for both Android and iOS, called 'Delete Messages.' Initially, this feature was expected to be available for both individual chats and group chats. However, the feature will be limited to group chats only and it will make it easy for group admins.

With the Delete Messages feature, group admins can now select a specific duration for messages on the group and once a message crosses the specified duration, it will be automatically deleted by the app. Users will be able to keep messages for as little as an hour and for as long as a year.

WhatsApp beta for Android: Dark mode update and animated stickers added

WhatsApp is yet to release dark mode but has made a number of enhancements recently. With the beta version 2.20.8 for Android, the Facebook-owned social messaging platform further improves dark mode. It seems the messaging platform wants to roll out a bug free experience. The newest update seems to be aimed directly at improving the last details before the release. With beta version 2.19.366, WhatsApp moved the ‘Dark Theme’ option to a different section.

With the new beta release, WhatsApp has improved the layout of the System Event bubble when dark theme is enabled. The bubble displays that your messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted. According to WABetaInfo, the new layout uses a yellow color for the text. This is different from the one seen with version 2.19.311 update. These changes are not yet available publicly and seem to be under development. The text color for the bubble that announces when you are chatting with a business has also been updated.
