Hey everyone,
I'm having an issue with water accumulating on the backseat floor of my car (Tata Punch), on the driver’s side. I don’t have a sunroof, so it’s not leaking from there. I took it to a service center, and they said it was due to the door beading, which they replaced, but I’m still facing the same problem.
I attached a picture that shows a round hole, which on one side has a cover but is missing on the driver’s side (where the floor is wet). Does anyone know if this missing cover could be causing the leak, or if there’s something else I should check? Any ideas or advice would be appreciated!

One of the reasons can be a block in the A/c drain pipe.

The next time, run the AC for some time, and look under the vehicle behind the passenger side front tire. There should be water dripping onto the ground

If you don’t see water dripping onto the ground, then the reason may be that the evaporator condensate drain tube is plugged, and the water is running down the inside firewall, under the carpet into the back seat floor.

The drain tube can be cleared with compressed air.

See a YouTube video explaining a similar problem:

Follow up on this:
I posted here a few days ago about finding a wet carpet behind the driver’s seat, even though the rest of the car was completely dry after driving in the rain. Today, the service center sent me a picture claiming I drove through high water, which isn’t true, and they're refusing to investigate further. They said they would just clean the car without doing any additional checks. I own a Tata Punch, and it’s only 3 months old. Can anyone help me understand what could be causing this, and advise on what steps I should take next?

You didn't see my post above (post no.2)??

Check the A/C drain pipe (do not go to Tata service where you have already shown the vehicle, instead go to a private A/C service center) and see all is fine with that.

I saw your post above and mentioned the same to be inspected but since discovering the issue, I’ve driven with the AC on multiple times and checked afterward, but there’s never any water on the carpet. The leak only shows up after I drive in the rain.

If you are sure that the leak is not from the A/c drain pipe, then better check the vehicle with another Tata dealer in your place (in case you have multiple service centers in your area).

If not, then you may show to a nearby private service center and ask for their opinion.

If nothing happens, then please write to Tata Customer care and ask for their help since it is a new vehicle.

Last month, I noticed water pooling on the rear passenger-side carpet, so I took my car to the service center. They said they fixed it, but now the problem's back. After inspecting the car myself, I noticed that the wheel alignment hole cover is missing on the rear wheel — on the same side where the carpet is getting soaked. All the other wheels have their covers intact.
Could this missing cover be the reason for the water leak onto the carpet?

Did the service center guys notice the missing cover - still they couldn't do anything about it?

If that is the case, either you show it to a private service center (just for this work) and ask their opinion or send a written complaint to Tata Motors with above supporting photographs.

(I too have a Tata vehicle and never had any problem with our service center for the last 6 years, like not attending a problem correctly).
