Android is the way to go. Also check out the models from HTC.

I am still using the old Samsung Galaxy S (I9000) it does the job :)

It seems Google has paused the update for some time and the processor seems not that good for ICS .

If you are going for Galaxy R, buy from ebay(check for the ones with bill and warranty) or flipkart. The price in retail stores are quite high.

@Crazy Cat, the price of the the phones are actually cheap in the stores a bit of discount is available. For example the price of Galaxy Y on Flipkart is 7990 & at the mobile store its 7350 something. So they are a bit cheap

Well I had Galaxy S, and I would suggest you to go for Galaxy S Plus. You will be mesmerized by the screen. When I bought my phone, I also had the same confusion that whether to go for S-LCD(Galaxy SL) or S-AMOLED(Galaxy S). But believe me there is lot of difference between the 2.
Although in the specs, Galaxy R is better.

I paid Rs. 22,100/- (Rs. 21,800/- for phone and Rs.300/- for sketch guard).
Well I did not consider the ACE at all but otherwise it is a good phone. However, little short on internal memory which will hinder while running few applications.
