Hopefully the facelift verna has the cruise control feature. Under c2 sedan segment only Honda City and fiat linea I believe offers cruise control.

The Fiesta also has cruise control. By the way, cruise control is totally impractical for our roads. Only very few highways are suitable for its use.

Your running is terribly low for a diesel engine. :P
I'am almost at 5900kms now.

You could have done the ac vent cleaning and the wheel alignment outside if the service center is over charging.

Is your headlights still fogging after the rains ?
Yeah Myth. 6000 KMs in a year is bit of low running for any diesel car. The main culprit for me not use the car daily is getting a parking place at office. The parking place at office gets over by 9 am in the morning and alernative parking is outside office around a KM far and need to take shuttle back to office. Lots of pain, so I take my motor bike instead to office.

I use my car mostly on weekends and till now car is going good.

Yes, fogging of lamp is normal. It's mentioned in the user manual. Just ignore it.

Went to Wayanad, Kerala from Bangalore, KA during Diwali holidays (24-26 Oct 2014). Covering total of 600 KMs (including both way) and crossing two jungles on the way. Drive was magnificent and I thoroughly enjoyed driving my car.

Got an average of of 20 kmpl (tank full method, MID was showing 24 kmpl), which is outstanding for a car of this size and power. I drove at a speed of 70-80 kmph most of time to maximize the fuel efficiency.

No way. My Dec 2012 Verna has done quite some time on Bangalore roads as well as on Highways during medium to heavy rains. I'm yet to see fogging inside the headlamps. Do you know how it rains in Delhi during Monsoon season ? First 5 years of its life, my old Matiz was parked only in the open. In fact, it once did the 210km long Rishikesh to Delhi segment under HEAVY rain. Never ever, there was any fogging inside those cute bug eyes. This was the case with a car manufactured in Yr 2000. Not at all acceptable to me in a latest Gen sedan.

Hello Hyundai, you are not TATA Motors; we need some explanation on this workmanship or design or whatever issue.

Mr Vijay, Please go through the manual yourself before contradicting my statement. If you wish I can give you exact page number to substantiate my findings.

A lot of times headlamps have fogged but fogging vanishes with in few hours with no sign of it. I didn't find any issue with it.

And yes, FYI, fogging doesn't happens because rain water seeps in. It happens because moisture in air inside the headlamps condenses due to cold outside. A very simple science.

Oops, I did not question your finding. The first "you" in my earlier post was meant to address NOT Kentkits but Hyundai. And, thanks for reminding of inside moisture condensing onto the headlight glass. But, does it happen to all the cars driven in same moist environment and rain in the same town/city ? No, it happens to a minority of Cars, due to whatever reason; improper sealing, wrong choice of Gasket / Gasket Material for fitting bulb, bad tolerance, poor design or anything. Its for the manufacturer to find it. I found it difficult to see Hyundai taking the easier escape route by calling it in the Manual.

When speeding at 120kmph, applying break to avoid the magically appeared animal 50 feet ahead will not prevent collision. But, manufacturers have given Airbags, ABS, concentrated on better Body Shell Design etc, in an effort to minimize damage. Has Hyundai printed in the manual: "Start saying your prayers; it is common" ?

BTW, congratulations for having patience to read the Manual [clap].

Yes Vijay. I do understand the fact all cars don't get fogging as much as cars manufactured by Hyundai. But as long as they are saying its normal and don't cause any damage to the lamp, I don't find anything to be concerned of.

Anyway, don't mean sound harsh in my previous post :)

@Kentkits
That's one immaculately maintained ride buddy. Credit to both you and Bajaj. And PLEASE do write a long term ownership review. After my 13 years with their first ever 4 stroke, I decided never to buy a Bajaj. Your review could change that.
OT : I currently own a 8 Yr old no nonsense TVS Star City. But it's only a 100 CC anyway.

Thanks Vijay. Though I don't take much care of my bike but yes, I do service the bike at regular interval at nearest Castrol bike zone, as they are much better than Authorized Bajaj Service centers. I will soon come up with the review. I already had a Bajaj Pulsar 150 (version 1) in my college days and was thoroughly impressed with the bike. Hence, without second thought, I went ahead to get this bike after I started my job.

Update :

Got Windows Sunshades for my car today. I had ordered from ebay.in two days back. Fit and finish is good if not great. But I found it to be bit expensive (Rs 1089 and adding Rs 150 as shipping charge) for the material I got. Sunshades are not magnetic type. Overall not a bad deal as I used my Payback points and Airtel discount coupons to get around 700 INR off.

Here goes few pics. Please excuse me for quality of pictures.

There was an issue with the MDPS of my Verna. There was some faint noise (similar to "krrr krrr") while rotating the steering wheel when stationary. Also felt the steering has become hard to turn. Contacted the ASS@ Trident Hyundai K R Puram. They took some video to get it confirmed from Hyundai. I got a call from Service representative to bring the car to have the Power Steering Motor replaced. I gave the car on 21/01/2015.

The motor was replaced within warranty. I still to collect the bill. But what I remember it was around INR 4500 and some thing else was INR 500 (from what I saw on ASS service person's computer monitor). I couldn't collect the bill that day as I was in a hurry. Now the steering feels little smooth with no "krrr krrr" sound. Will upload the bill once I get it. I didn't pay a penny from my pocket.

Overall experience was good. The car was kept for two days at Trident Hyundai, K R Puram. Got it back on 22/01/2015
