I need to change tyres of my swift VXI, (Seems I will have to change just two tyres).
Current tyres are stock JK tornado tyres

Most of the time, I would be driving in city, and I have very less usage - Around 300 KM/Month
I don't do race driving, would probably never go above 85/90. I expect comfortable drive

What are some of the good options for me..

I am thinking of

- Michelin Energy XM1+ (185/70/R14)- Dealer quoted prize - 4700
- Bridgestone Turanza ER 60 (185/70/R14)- Dealer quoted prize around 4300

Which one would be better - OR Do you recommend any other size and companies ?

Note : - It's an used swift

Hello, Sramanandi, Since you do not do spirited driving, Low profile (I mean 60) will not be suitable for you .
The possible sizes are-
185/70/R14.(Normal wide tyres)
205/65/R14 (If you want fatter tyres)
175/75/R14(If you want more comfortabel ride than the others)

Out of the above 185/70/R14 is the best size as it has the minimum percentage of 0.8 speedometer error.

here's the link if you want to compare the tire sizes-
Tire size calculator

Get the Michelins XM1, I think they will be better than the other two. If budget does not allow, Then get the Bridgestones followed by Yokos.

Do keep us updated about the Price and the brand which you buy.

Cheers.

Are you changing all 4 tyres or only 2 of them?

If possible, Can you ask for the Price of Alto's Tyres (12" Wheels)? I am also keen on upgrading my tyres but not getting time to visit the SardarJi shop! [:)]

Sure, I am going to the dealer this saturday, I will ask for Alto's tyres (What exact size do you want)

So currently I have stock tyres (165/80/R14 JK Tornado) - will it be fine to upgrade two tyres to (185/70/R14) - I mean mixing the 185/70 and 165/80

Ya i checked out the Yokohama A drive 185/70 r14 (swift)yesterday, the max retail price was 4260 per tire so 4000 is a decent price, the tires did appear soft which is good for grip but mite wear out sooner than your jk tires so around 38000-42000,i have the a drive on the innova.
How many km has your j k tire done,it looks like 48000-51000 if am not wrong.

Sorry i missed this, well you can mix them,
but if you want to fit only two then add the 185's to the front
& for rear reduce the tire air pressure by 1psi than company recommended for the 165's to 32psi,this can be done given you have done balancing/alignment ,etc.

Great, thnx..

May any one review the pics of my tyres I have posted, and let me know how's the condition.. I think two of them are still usable.

I have very low usage, around 150KM/Month - so I think, I would't replace all four and rather save some money.

I just got two typres upgraded to Michelin energy xm1+ 185/70/R14 - it rocks..
Really it seems to have solved my real problem of bad suspension.. I took the car to A.S.S and they told me suspension is okey, I took it to a private service center and they told me suspension is okey, I was confused, every one say suspension is okey, but I was going crazy, because I knew it's not as I want.. and now after changing the tyres, around 60% problem seem to have been solved.. I guess I will try few days and then change the remaining two tyres as well.

I think there were alot of puncture fillings in the old tires,i have noticed these increase the small vibrations filtering in & its the front left tire that is the most abused in every front wheel drive car.
So how much did you pay for the tires? You fitting the two upgrades to the front is it?Hope you checked the tire pressure on the spare tire as most seem to forget doing this.
