TVS registers 'Ronin' product name

ageResizer.ashx?n=http%3a%2f%2fcdni.autocarindia.com%2fExtraImages%2f20200513025624_TVS-Zepellin.jpg

TVS Zeppelin concept.

The TVS Motor Company has registered the name ‘Ronin’ as its new product trademark on the national trademark registry. TVS is due to launch a new motorcycle in 2021 and it is possible that the model will be called Ronin. While it is an interesting name, what we really want to know is what type of motorcycle will adorn that badge. Will it be a street naked, a cruiser or a small-capacity ADV?

There has been speculation that TVS is working on a street-naked version of the Apache RR310. When you consider that ‘Ronin’ is a Japanese word that describes a 'wandering Samurai who has no master', it could suit the description of a naked-street fighter. If that is truly the case, expect the motorcycle to feature all the goodies that you see on the Apache 310. This includes the brilliant chassis, the refined BS6 motor, new Michelin tyres and riding modes. Also, given the fact that the RR310 is a really good-looking motorcycle, it'll be interesting to see what the naked version would look like.

TVS Motor Company Announces Salary Cuts For Employees

TVS Motor Company is one of the first two-wheeler brands in India to announce salary cuts for employees in the face of the current COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown. The lockdown has forced a near total halt in manufacturing and production, as well as retail sales of all automotive brands. According to a statement by TVS, the company has decided to adopt a pay cut for all its employees starting from the month of May 2020 till October 2020. This is seen as a result of the significant fall in the company's sales numbers due to the countrywide lockdown.

According to a statement released by TVS Motor Company, "In the wake of the unprecedented crisis, TVS Motor Company has rolled out a temporary salary reduction across different levels for a period of six months (May to October 2020). There will be no salary deduction at the workmen level. However, there will be 5 per cent salary reduction at the junior executive level and about 15 per cent to 20 per cent at the senior management level. It was heartening to see employees coming forward and offering to take salary reduction voluntarily."

Interested customers can call up their nearest dealership and book an appointment for two-wheeler servicing at their homes. Other two-wheeler manufacturers like Royal Enfield have also begun doorstep servicing formats, which helps reduce the burden on customers.
