We reached the Cantonment area of city after 3hrs of driving.

We took out a list of places which we had planned to visit. Did some googling and short listed the places nearby the cantonment area. Since we has limited amount of time, we thought of covering places which were nearby and had less rush. Due to rains, most of the routes were jammed with traffic and water.

The first destination was Anand Bhavan. This is a mansion which was owned by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Driving through this dense ghat section was frightening. Soon after we left this stretch at 10pm, there occured firing between Naxals & Policemen that left a few of each party dead.

Hi Akash, How was the Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi... I missed it though it was very near to where I was staying.
Buddy, it was good. I was told not to miss this temple, hence i had to drive through kms of narrow crowded lanes, i went on visit this temple. It was nice. I cant resist myself from posting that the Laddoos which have to be purchased as "Prasad" were delicious.

Also I find that you are using the original bridge over the Ganga to exit Varanasi. I presume it will take you through the town of Mughalsarai. How congested is it?

I used the Vishwasundari bypass and the road bypassed Mughalsarai as well.

BTW do you stay in Ranchi. Will be there from day after for a couple of days.

Yes, i went through the town since it seemed a bit faster to reach NH2 and at the same time, wanted to have some eateries packed from a friends place[:)].

BTW buddy, where did you stay in Varanasi?
