Hiroshi Nakagawa said:
“We are glad to introduce Liva TRD Sportivo Limited Edition, on the occasion of the first anniversary of Etios Liva. Etios and Etios Liva have been doing well and our vision, to see growing number of Toyota happy customers and Toyota families, is beginning to materialize. We will soon begin the domestic production of engine and transmission in the third quarter of 2012 and early 2013 respectively, at our facility in Toyota Kirloskar Auto Parts. We also exported the first batch of Etios series to South Africa in April this year. We thank our customers for their appreciation of Etios and Etios Liva and look forward to their feedback to continuously improve upon the product.”
Sandeep Singh said:
“The Liva TRD Sportivo Limited Edition is a trendy and sporty vehicle for the ever enthusiastic and vibrant youth of today. It will offer product exclusivity and excitement thus enhancing the ownership experience and image of the Etios Liva. TKM has undertaken many active steps to cater to the youthful market and this is just one such initiative to further our efforts. Our Waku Doki campaign takes the Toyota experience to a different level. Waku Doki is a Japanese phrase, short for Waku Waku Doki Doki, which literally means “heightened anticipation and excited heart thumping”. Loosely translated, it means “an exciting adrenaline rush. Cars should not just be for mere transportation, they are dreams come true, that provide a joyful experience to its owners and their families, on every single day of their lives. We hope the Liva TRD Sportivo Limited Edition along with our remaining product range will offer our customers a waku doki Toyota experience.”

White one looks really nice. Only if they would have come up with better interiors this would have beena sure shot hit. This is somewhat similar to what FIAT did in case PUNTO sports.

At present it is only for Liva (Hatchback). However, in future we can expect Etios sedan to come with such edition too or even the Altis perhaps. Here’s how it looks.

Re: Toyota Celebrates 1st Anniversary of Liva with “TRD Sportivo” Edition

Is it practical to go for these special editions over a long term?
Let's say if i break one alloy, will i be able to get a replacement? What about body works, will i get it as original as new one after an accident?

I really like this edition but will it be a trouble free buy as against the regular Liva?

Globally Sports edition generally means engine upgrade or some performance mod or something of that nature. In India, companies fool us with the same car with cosmetic alterations (stickers, badges, spoilers etc.).
Is there a feeling that performance editions would not do good in the Indian market for the so called 'Kitna deti hai' attitude?

I really wanted Fiat to relaunch the Punto with a Abarth badge and what they gave us was some stickers. It seems Toyota is doing the same.

Good question. Yes, there is an issue with certain spare parts that are specific to limited editions. Unless it’s already an official aftermarket add-on from manufacturer.

Toyota Etios Liva vehicle is aimed to offering an exclusive product to today's Youth . Looks and design of the special edition Liva are exactly the same as the normal variant, but have many sporty features to make the vehicle more interesting.

Even though I am an Etios owner, I have to say that Toyota should take care of the real feedback given by the owners in improving the car rather than such lame cosmetic stuff... if they want to improve the sales.

Hormazd Sorabjee has informed that Toyota is considering launching Etios Liva with 1.5 Petrol Engine to add some thrill in this hatch. The new model would also have body kits, wider wheels and revamped interiors. Though it would translate into significant price increase too.

Toyota launches trd sportivo ltd edition etios sedan

The Toyota Etios sedan is not a looker like say, a Fiat Linea or ever for that matter, a Hyundai Verna Fluidic. Far from it, the Etios sedan is a basic workhorse from Toyota, a car that is designed to please all and offend none. This super conservative styling approach means that the dated looking Etios is seen more a car that is meant for the middle aged rather than the youthful, notwithstanding youth icon Virat Kohli’s peddling of the car in massive advertisements. To build some buzz around the Etios, Toyota has now given this car the TRD Sportivo body kit treatment.

Launched as a limited edition model, the Etios sedan, in TRD Sportivo guise, is available in both petrol as well as diesel engine options. The car is available in two color options, white and silver. Here is the full list of changes that the TRD Sportivo kit brings to the table,

The special Features are as follows:
* Front Bumper Spoiler

* Rear Bumper Spoiler

* Side Skirts

* 15 inch smoked alloy wheels: These wheels fill the wheel wells of the Etios very well

* TRD Sportivo Seats

* Silver Gear Knob

* TRD Decals on the flanks of the car
Notably, the TRD Sportivo spec Etios sedan is available only in two variants, the G and GD models. The petrol version is priced at INR 6.25 lakhs while the diesel engined model sells at INR 7.31 lakhs, both prices reflecting ex-showroom Delhi figures. The Etios sedan is powered by a 1.5 Liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine that is good for 90 Bhp. This motor makes the car particularly peppy given that the Etios petrol weighs well under 1 ton. The rev happy petrol engine however, isn’t the most fuel efficient motor around and is quite noisy too.
