Since this thread popped up today, I could go thru the same. Very nice and detailed information with interesting photos on Tourist spots in Kerala.

Reminds me of my visit to Kerala many times during my younger days and on official visits to cities like Cannanore, Kasargod, Cochin/Ernakulam etc. Always loved the greenery all around everywhere. Most of the old houses or so called Villas have their own charm in Kerala. As I recall, I had seen a museum called Hill top(?) which was very nice. Had seen very old temples including that of Venkataram temple in Cochin, replica of Goa Hindu GSB temple near Cochin Refinery and a beautiful church in Cochin.

Always loved the green scenery before landing of plane at Cochin, which is like a mesmerizing island and one could see only coconut trees. Similar landing experience one could enjoy while landing at Mangalore Airport.

Of course besides Kerala, one could get time to visit some beautiful places like Madikeri ( Mercara) in Karnataka and enjoy the nice granary and also the famous Abbey falls. Of course there are many beautiful tourist attractions in Karnataka too such as Bandipur Safari near Mysore, and famous temples like Udupi Shri Krishna, Murdeshawar temple, Dharmastala Manjunath to name a few.

Due to the modern technology in the Mobile Industry, now a days, one could capture beautiful places in a tiny handset and share them to others to enjoy, which wasn't the case about 20 yrs ago. So also the arrival of modern and trust worthy modern cars compared to the rugged old Ambys.

In a nut shell, the days have changed in the 21st century.

Thanks VR Shenoy. Yes, these places where in our list for this year exploration. Unfortunately things did not work out. Anyways, will try in next attempt.

Aqua Tourism at Matsyafed Narakkal Fish Farm, Ernakulam is a must see place. Kids will enjoy. They are offering Lunch, ice cream and juice including in the entry fee. We can catch fish, and they serve the same for the lunch. A big pond, surrounded with greenaries.

Bailey Bridge at Enathu

The Bridge at Enathu got some repair works, and hence Indian Army installed Bailey Bridge parallel to Enathu Bridge. The traffic was strictly for light vehicles, and there was provision for pedestrian walk. The traffic was allowed one direction for around 30minutes, and next 30 minutes for opposite direction. I appreciate Kerala Police for strict control of Traffic on this Bridge. There was incident that, who where not in Queue are asked to go back at the end of the Queue. Now, the other bridge is opened for Traffic. Indian Army is now dismantling the Bridge, very shortly in days, they move out to their stores. I got opportunity to Travel through this bridge, and explored all other possible bypass roads. I salute the Indian Army to take this initiatives.

Indian Army is dismantling the Bailey Bridge. As per today's new paper, it is almost done. A photo is adding (Taken from Malayala Manorama Newspaper). The left image is, when the bridge opened for public, six months back. Dismantling is progressign as in the right image.

Veli Tourist Village

Veli Lake meets the Arabian Sea, offers boating facilities. Pedalboats and paddleboats can be hired to explore the charms of the lagoon in a leisurely manner. For a quick ride over the waters, speedboats are available for hire. Children enjoy climbing over the huge sculptures which dot the landscape. Veli Tourist Village also has a children's park and a Floating Cafe by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC).

It is worth visiting this place. As in the last photo above, there is lake and sea. We can have boating, floating restaurant, and neat garden with ample space for sitting. For kids, there are horse ride, mini-giant wheel, and similar equipments.

Happy New Year to All.
On a recent trip to Kerala, Visited Jatayu Earth Center.
The giant concrete statue of Jatayu is built on a mighty rock named Jatayupara (para means rock in Malayalam) by the sculptor Rajiv Anchal. The colossal statue is 200 feet long, 150 feet wide and 70 feet tall, making it all largest functional bird statue in the world with an enter into the Guinness Book of World Records.
MYTH
Jatayu is an embodiment of valor and chivalry. Risking his life, he tried his best to save Sitha from her abductor. Hence the Jatayu sculpture uprights as a towering tribute to women’s safety and honour. Jatayu also represents a bygone era when humans, animals, birds and other living forms cared for each other and fellow begins and lived peacefully on this Earth. In the words of Mr Rajiv Anchal, this symbolism has great relevance in today’s social scenario since the crime rate against women is on a high. Each guest at Jatayu Earth’s Center is requested to understand and emulate the inner meaning of this inspiring creation.

Notes:
While going to Jatayu Earth Center, the first location is their corporate office. Do not stop there, continue till the big parking. The tickets are available online. One need to visit on a specific time slots of every two hours. Afternoon 3 to 5pm is the ideal time slots. Recently they have opened one week festival. So every evening there will be some sort of attractions. Traditional food festival is also attached to that. The museum is still not opened. Entry ticket is rs400 per person + GST. If you are planning to visit as a team, them choose the adventure center. Cable car is operated to take the visitor from the earth cen

I think it is in Chadayamangalam (Kollam district)? Is it close to NH?

Is there any other attractions other than the Jatayu statue? (of course except those monkey business[roll])
